First off, this is not another oil temp thread
But rather it has to do with high temps in another area... the interior. I got my hands on a nifty little USB data logger that records temperature values based on user configurable sampling intervals. It basically looks like a large thumb drive. I decided to run a few experiments to see how hot the interior was getting while the Z was sitting outside in the summer sun. Not totally scientific but interesting data none the less. So here's the scenario. Use a PC application to tell the logger to record a temperature reading every 10 sec. Drop it in the car and drive to work. Leave the logger inside to cook and retrieve at the end of the day. BTW I keep the windows fully up, sun shade up, and the logger is never in direct sunlight. Finally, download data to PC when I get home. Its easy to see when the AC was cranking at the end of the day. Test #1 (Sitting on dash by gauge pod, Daily High Temp 100.4F) ![]() Test #2 (Inside Center Armrest Console, Daily High Temp 98.1F) ![]() Test #3 (Inside Dash Console, Daily High Temp 85F) ![]() Next up: Time to measure under the hood temps.
