Why pay more for touring/sports pack when it slows the car down?

The way I see it, get the base package with auto trans and you have the fastest 370z you can get from the dealer. Sports pack/ Touring adds weight to

The way I see it, get the base package with auto trans and you have the fastest 370z you can get from the dealer. Sports pack/ Touring adds weight to the car. Auto has been shown to be faster on this car then manual. So someone please explain, why pay more to slow my car down?
