The replacement bushings are a little shorter then what the hole is long. When you install from the front. You only have to push the bushing in until it's flush with the front of the hole. You will still have about 1/8 to 3/16 recess in the rear. If you install from the rear. You have to push the bushing that extra 1/8 to 3/16 to get it flush in the front. Why do the extra work? Plus less chance of getting hung up like bunk did. Installing from the front gives you more room to swing a BFH too.
