It's tough... I was hoping to sell it tomorrow, take care of financial stuff, and then look forward to next year. I'm barely keeping my head above the water for the past year.

[EDIT] The potential buyer who is putting things on hold is hoping to hear some good news in a couple of weeks, which is when he'll get back with me on the car.

+1, parting out would get you close to what you are asking if not more..

I can see 10k in aftermarket parts another 20k in the car

Parting out takes time and money with diminishing returns. I'd have to repurchase used and new OEM parts to restore including headers, heat shields, bolts, injectors, intake boxes, washer reservoir, crash beam, cats, exhaust, wheels, etc. All that stuff I didn't have room to keep around. I don't have the facilities or tools, so it will cost a grip with labor to remove and re-install parts. Plus, I don't want any surprises while restoring the car and flashing the ECU back to stock. If it's not broke, it is better to leave it alone so whoever buys my car knows they'll get something that's running right from the start.

I'm more interested in selling this car to someone who doesn't have a 370Z, but would like a good 450+ whp starting point to continue this project.

I agree with the part out not worth it. Plus it would be like burning fine art. Hold strong for the right buyer or keep her forever.

good luck! Its a real niche market especially with all the modifications you have done to the car. It is gorgeous beast of a machine.. but I can see how people would be nervous to buy someone project.

for 28k, you can get a 11-12 with basically no miles. Got to find that enthusiast out there!

Thanks. It is definitely a looker, and I think it's because of the wheels, headlights, and the stance. There's so much more I want to do with this car, but I rather let it go due to other priorities.

Default Update 4/17/2014

Finally bought a new head unit, the Kenwood DDX8901HD. It is new for 2014. I'm in the middle of finishing up the installation. Similar to a few members here, I'm trying to mount the camera above the dummy fog light section.

I also went ahead and moved the gauge touch controllers out so it can be easily accessed.

Pictures coming soon!

Last summer my old Kenwood stopped working after leaving the body shop, and I waited for a new model before purchasing one. I just finished the installation along with a rear view camera, and it works great. I definitely have a hard time letting this car go...

Below are pictures of the completed installation:
