  • JL 12W6v2
  • JL XD500/3
  • Zenclosures Upfire Box

Condition:
  • There are absolutely NO fender or door dings.
  • Front bumper, hood, and fender has rock guard protection.
  • Very minor scratches, rocker panels have noticeable signs of rock chips, one of the A pillars have a small paint chip, minor rock chips on the windshield (no crack). All of this is due to freeway driving and construction vehicles flinging stuff out the back that I couldn't avoid. This car is no garage queen, as it was meant to be enjoyed as a daily driver.
  • There are some spider webbing of the clear coat and some blemishes on the shield covering the bumper.
  • The brand new paint on the passenger side has a minor 3" scratch from someone trying to run me off the road. It can be spot repaired.
  • The clear coat on the wheels are pitted from gravel. Minor lip scratches from wheel shop, and the lip on one of the wheels was scraped from the driver trying to run me off the road.
  • It was involved in a low speed frontal collision 5 years ago (no airbags deployed). There is NO frame damage. Replaced headlights (modded them again), hood, bumper, fender, and support pieces.
  • Rear bumper was spot fixed for minor scrape caused by a tail gater, but recently sustained some minor damage that can be smoothed out and repainted or replaced.
  • The car sustained major hail damage that was repaired. This included the new hood (modified), roof, spoiler, tail light, and filled and repaired the front fenders, passenger side door cover, rear fender, and trunk. The car looks great now other than the small paint damage from the driver trying to run me off the road.
  • The CF lip kit needs to be removed or replace if needed since it suffered quite a bit of road damage. In August, I plan to remove the CF side blades and clean up the side skirts a little bit. The front lip is salvageable, so I've already patch it up. I'm going to clean it up and apply truck bed liner to the side and bottom surface.
  • The exhaust cans are functional, but the bottom corner sustained some damage from speed bumps. It still sounds great.
  • Headlights are modified, but the engine heat may have loosened the seal. There is a bit of condensation after heavy rain or car wash. The driver side parking light is dimmer than the passenger side and flickers a little bit, which can be repaired by fixing the wiring. Everything else is working fine and still looks great.
  • Interior is great. All the interior lighting is working well with absolutely no issues. Cloth seats are good... nothing torn.
  • The transmission was replaced twice. The original one developed 3rd gear grind. The new was a pain to shift into 5th. The current one is great. Shifts are much more precise and tight, and it is so much fun to daily drive without the clunkiness and grinding. The gearbox has Redline fluid from the beginning for smooth shifts.
  • There might be a bit of oil residue on the passenger turbo. There's no smoke coming out of the exhaust, so it might be due to PVC clogging from oil blowby. The plan was to get them cleaned up along with the intake pipes and throttle bodies this Spring. No leaks or puddles!
  • Removed busted INGS front lip. The INGS sides are still attached, but is not in great shape either.
  • Late 2015, replaced spark plugs, valve cover seal, PCV valves, cleaned entire intake system, and replaced filters. No more hot start issues.
  • Added Mishimoto oil catch cans.
  • There's possibly a small vacuum leak, MAP sensor, or tuning issue. So there's some idle hunting. It gets worse on warm days. Other than that, the engine is running smooth and drivable. I'm a bit exhausted from working on this car, so I'm hoping I can find a buyer who can take over this project.
  • Needs new tires soon.
  • 04/2016 - Upgraded to KONI Yellow dampners. Feels great!
  • 05/2016 - Replaced MAP sensor. No more lagging throttle even when oil temps are around 200F. Consistent feeling, and there's power in any gear at low RPM. Idle hunting dramatically reduced (stable most of the time), but I think it still needs a new tune.

Thanks guys. This time I'm pretty serious. Right now the idea of getting an NSX is pretty far fetched. I totally missed out on an '02-04 for $50k!!! The owner traded his IS-F and NSX for a GT-R. The NSX didn't really cross my mind, but I went ahead and check it out in the show room only to find out someone already bought it two days prior.

The NSX sounds sick, but the 370Z TT with FI exhaust still sounds better. If anything, I'd like to make it sound just as good. Hopefully it doesn't have the throttle lag ;)

I'm pretty sure i replayed the WOT test about 10+ times haha. I say you keep her!

Damn 02-04 for 50k! That is a steal. Definitely happy to see that you would be getting a nice 6speed and newer body style. Cant beat the classic looks of the NSX.

I dont know if you know Lin (Xsad), but he traded in his Panda Z for an NSX, I believe it is a pre 97 5 speed.

Yea, but an AZ owner beat me by 2 days. I was willing to take a loss by trading in the car and enjoy it as is. This was over a year ago before I sent the car out to get the turbos installed.

So I'm back on the hunt. There's a really nice one ('05 silverstone with over 23k miles), but owner wants $68-73k (completely unfeasible for me at this point). The price has gone up on the '02+. I'm sure I can find a decent higher mileage one in the upcoming year or two. As long as the body is good and the motor runs and takes me from A to B, I'd be happy since it'll get a build anyhow. There's one for $40-45k, but the owner is a bit flakey (not truthful about his car) and members saw one side of the car was repainted. I'd look at the prior years, but it costs just as much to do the '02 conversion. Plus, it's tough to find a nice CF lip kit for this car. Overall, everything's expensive on this car.

Sorry guys, stuff happened over the weekend unrelated to this car, so I didn't get around to getting it cleaned for photographs.

Is there a lot of throttle lag with the TT kit on the Z?

DIGItonium 12-16-2012 02:33 AM

The Z has throttle lag out of the box. The turbo tune didn't correct the lag. If I still have this car by spring I plan to get it dyno tuned with the lag fix by adjusting throttle tables.

I am surprised they didn't fix it from the first tune.
