The sweepstakes ended June 28th and your join date was a few days after that time and now your pics that you
posted shows your Z with plates. Unless the Florida DMV works 10X faster than every other DMV.....Hmmmmmmmm

I can go to a dealer in Florida tomorrow and drive off the lot with a brand new car and a brand new license plate. Maybe it's the electronic titles or something but that is how it's done here.

I closed the deal for my car over the phone on a Friday and picked the car up with a new license plate on a Wednesday half way across the state of Florida.

Not sure how it works but it sure is convenient.

Waiz 08-09-2010 07:48 PM

^Thanks for that info, but OP said that the car is not titled so why would it have plates and not the dealer temporary plates?

Something is not adding up.

I can only assume, then, that he drove the vehicle home from Nashville to FL (I guess with a temporary tag???) and had the car titled and tag issued within a day or two of getting back to FL.

That still does make one wonder why the winner of the contest was a non-discussed issue at ZCON.

Is this it by any chance (the one on the left of course)?

The above pic is one I included in the story I wrote for the Nissan (internal) website...I didn't even realize when I took this pic that this was the "winning" NISMO.

I doubt you'll hear from him in the next 24 hours AK based on his comment on 8/6.

krsplsh 08-10-2010 10:43 AM

the skinny

ok. to start off, i know that the asking price i am asking is high, but that is the starting point.
as for you who dont believe i won it, than that is just ok. to start, they shipped the car to me since i opted out of going to tennessee (it was in franklin and not nashville). i was invited to go, could not, so they shipped it to me. it did not stop in a nashville dealer, it came straight from LA.
as for the tags, once i paid "tax, title, and license" the plate was given to me from the dealer (dealers have plates, if you did not know that).

NIZMOZ 08-10-2010 10:54 AM

In Texas dealers do not have plates and we have to wait 30-60 days for it. But either way, the car was in Franklin, TN at the hotel. So I don't get how you got the car shipped, and it came from LA when it was in Franklin. LOL. I personally think you are full of it.

Ole Rusty 08-10-2010 11:05 AM

Wow, lighten up a little folks. Not sure why the guy would make up a story that he WON the car just so he could sell it. Doesn't seem like it would help his cause to lie. Either way, I would have liked to have won-but I didn't and that's what I'd like to complain about:shakes head:

If he won the car then :tiphat: Congrats. If he didn't, then I'd love to hear why he would make up a story that probably wouldn't garner him a higher profit on his sale.

My vote is that he won it and that he's looking for something different. Can't fault a guy for being lucky.

Just my $0.02

josh@z1 08-10-2010 11:20 AM

So whats the asking price?

 The difference between "Franklin" and "Nashville" is an imaginary line on a map ROTFLMAO

As for the price; ask anything you want but no individual buyer (unless he/she is a fool) is going to pay you more than they can buy one that is truly brand new off a dealer's lot. Likewise, no dealer is going to pay you more than they could buy a used one directly from another dealer or auction.

I suggest you put the car on eBay and hope for the best.

Waiz 08-10-2010 11:27 AM

I'm still a skeptic until you can post paperwork backing up your claims. Feel free to whiteout any confidential info.

The internet is full of scammers so you can understand our reluctance.

krsplsh 08-10-2010 11:33 AM

to start, the exact car WAS NOT in tenn. it was at the dealer here in fl. i know you dont believe me, but it was. the car was here on tuesday, a couple of days before the convention started. i received it on friday the convention was going on. so if you dont believe me, then i DO NOT CARE! because that is what happened.
all of you who think i am full of it can just go out and stuff up your arse! it is obvious that you dont know me b/c i just dont lie!
it is for sale, if you want it than i-m me. if not i am done with this pile of garbage!

I don't think anyone is faulting him for being lucky but I do think, the "wife" edicts aside, that those of us who love Z cars and performance cars in general find it more than a bit frustrating that someone would enter a contest and win a car many people here dream of owning only to have the guy turn around and claim he "can't keep it" because it's not a "family car".

I think most of us would much rather have had a "Z" person win the vehicle and had I been running the contest, I think I would have required the winner to have been a paid attendee and present at ZCON to be eligible to win.

Waiz 08-10-2010 11:38 AM

You post sketchy details on a $37K car and get mad when we ask for backup? It's not very difficult to provide backup for buyer confidence considering no one does know you.

The only "garbage" here ( :icon18: )is a guy who claims he won the 370Z NISMO then claims his wife won't let him keep it and then expects people on a forum comprised of aficionados of the 370Z to feel all warm and fuzzy for him.

By the way...maybe don't quite trust what you have to say because your story has changed - you once said you were going to be in Nashville for ZCON

now, i have been asked about proof. what proof do you want? it is obvious that if cant put up the email from them b/c it has been up here before and i will be called a liar and stole that from a previous post and switched around wording.
so what do yo want?
as for attending it, i was planning on doing it. it was gonna be my father and myself, having a father son bonding kinda thing. but, he could not go b/c he had to go to the Cleveland clinic. i spoke with david ciulla (the one that was doing the promotion form nissan america) and he told me that if i could not go to nashville, than the car was being shipped from LA to the closest dealer to me. so that is the straight dope!
i am done! no more explaining bout the car or me winning it. if you want to buy it, im me. if not, just go away!

I hope you enjoy you mini-van. :rofl2:

Jeffblue 08-10-2010 12:06 PM

coming onto an enthusiast forum saying that you want to sell the car in your situation will piss off almost everyone on the forum because of the way you are handling it for the following reasons.

1. You entered a contest to win what is obviously the favorite car of all the members here, but you are selling it because its not a family car and your wife wont let you keep it. So basically, you took up a spot in a contest, and instead of a Z enthusiast winning it, it goes to some guy who's wife is making him sell it even though it was free. I've seen posts on here where guys went out and bought this car with MONEY, without asking their wives and didn't care if they got any sass about it. but you obviously are the polar opposite of this. You won the car, it was free, but your wife is in control so you can't even keep it.
2. you are trying to gouge the price up to the price it sells for new, because a 30k profit isn't good enough, you need it to be what... 35k? 37k?

You went about this all wrong. if you're gonna come on an enthusiast forum and try and sell a car that you WON FOR FREE, you say 'hey guys i won this car in this contest but i can't keep it, so i'll spread the love and sell it for a fair price, so that a real Z enthusiast can still enjoy this car and benefit from the fact that it was won in a sweepstakes(you don't need to mention that the reason is that your wife has your balls in her purse) You on the other hand decided to basically say 'hey guys, i won this car for free, i had it delivered to me because i dont even care about Z cars and didn't want to go to ZCON, my wife wont let me keep the car and i want to get as much money as possible for it because that is all that matters. so please place your bids. The extra money i gouge out of the buyer will go towards buying me a spine and a pair of balls'

when you initially posted, i did feel bad that you had to sell it and i felt bad that people were ragging on you. But seeing how you have dealt with this situation and how totally unappreciative you are, i don't feel bad for you, hence, my post.

neither are the people who steal wheels and then come on here and try and sell them, but that doesn't stop anyone from busting their balls about it. not to mention he hasn't really followed the for sale guidelines well. it took him forever to post pics, and he hasn't posted an asking price. he just wants to start a bidding war for his free car.

Ole Rusty 08-10-2010 09:28 PM

You boys make me laugh. I dreamed of winning the car, too. I would have gladly travelled the 40 miles to Nashville to pick up the car. NAKED and dancing the whole way, if need be:icon23::happydance:. But I'd like to ask all of you who are so furious about someone winning something he doesn't really want if you've ever applied to win something you didn't really want or need to win? I'm not saying that I wouldn't have LOVED to see a Z guy win the car, but it didn't go to me or you or someone else that lives on this site. It went to a guy who is more interested in a happy home than the ULTIMATE $40k fun car.

I'm still driving a Mustang because I can't bring myself to skin the money out of my wallet, but I've been lingering on this site and fantasizing about driving a Z for a long time. I don't buy one, not because I can't afford it, but because I want to spend my money on more important things-like my family. I left the Mustang sites because of the childish arguments like this one and it makes me sad to see so many 'mature' people doing the same thing here.

The OP needs to ignore the childishness and go on with the sale if he can find a buyer somewhere. For the rest of you, go ahead 'flame on', but realize that it's ridiculous to live such an angry lives while hiding behind screen names. None of you would say this to your mother if she'd applied and won!

Having finished my rant, I'll wrap up with the fact that I should have won.:shakes head:

OP-good luck

2) Has the winning car.

Damn I bet he also only logged on once to answer the trivia questions and then he wins! Why enter and when you win, not want to keep the car? It was free! I would tell the wife to :gtfo2:! ;) (side note: the reason I HAVE a Nissan 370Z is cuz I don't have a wife!) :ughdance: :rofl2:

onzedge 08-10-2010 11:21 PM

This thread is an embarassment and an affront to the forum. I agree that the OP could have been more diplomatic and informed, but geez.

It is easy to rail against someone anonymously -- perhaps too easy. Many posts are written by those who have described themselves as "true Z" people and such. True Z people don't lambaste their comprades -- they offer help and guidance.

I wonder how many of those who were quick to point out that the guy had no balls, was pw'ed,, whatever else came to them, have wives or girlfriends? I mean women whose intelligence is at least twice that of a cornflake. I admire the man for owning up to his reality -- maybe they can't afford insurance, maybe they just had a kid or have medical expenses. No one knows, but it sure is fun to poke fun at him, isn't it?

I have been in the Z community for more than 30 years and own/owned more than a dozen Z's. True Z people aren't the guys whose only experience is with 300's, 350's, 370's. True Z guys have been through thick and thin with their (and other people's) cars. They act as if they belong to a brotherhood and they help each other, they broaden each other's knowledge. It is a sad statement for our forum, and society at large, that so many take the low road.

Makes me ashamed to be associated with those who get their kicks by putting other people down. I could go on, but my license does not allow me to practice therapy for free.

Ole Rusty 08-10-2010 11:35 PM

Very well put, OnZedge. The anonymity of the internet disgusts me. Most would simply congratulate the OP to his face, but here, where they can hide, they flame him for being an adult who puts his family first. How ridiculous...

For all those interested (not many, I'm sure). Look at most Mustang sites, their posters are so immature and idiotic that no adult visits them any longer. The websites have diminished the quality of a decent car to the point that people who like to read and share their experiences go other places. I also own a 70 Chevelle and the adults at those sites are truly adults who make it a wonderful location to share lessons and stories.

If you truly think that the 370Z is the most fantastic car ever then prove it by being an adult who can keep stupid comments to yourself and support those around you.

Some of you are demanding proof for something that you have no intent to purchase. If you're gonna buy the car, then IM the OP and get proof. If you're gonna complain about his wife, then maybe you should look within your own life for what you must be missing.

I guess that is for me... and yes I never applied for anything I didn't want or need. Also you can be realistic about it... he is on a Z forum asking for 37k when people are getting one off the lot for the same price and color of choice..

Here my tip to him.. if you stick with that price you have a better chance of selling it locally or you can try to lower it and have a better chance here. You have to realize it is now a used car regardless of the miles on the odo

Jeffblue 08-11-2010 07:35 AM

this doesn't have as much to do with us being immature etc as it does have to do with how the OP has handled the situation.

take this for example, shadow2x, who many of you have probably read, had his wheels almost stolen twice, is quite young. he came on here and started this thread:http://www.the370z.com/new-370z-owne...duation-z.html The kneejerk response of many members here to young Z owners who get the car as a gift is to rag on them and be like 'AH YOU DONT DESERVE THIS BLA BLA BLAH' but he showed that he was a nice, appreciative guy. He didn't come on being like 'hey yall bitches, i gotz a Z for free yall had to pay for it suck it!' he made it clear he appreciated what he had, and despite the fact that he was young and got the car as a gift, EVERYONE here treated him with respect.

This guy on the other hand, did not handle this situation properly. If you don't want to have forum members criticize your personal life, don't bring it into the situation. On multiple occasions you mentioned your wife and how she is making you sell the car.

It is silver, and I do have pics, but my wife has the camera, so you have to wait til the pics come in. I will load them as soon as I can.
Obviously we signed the title, so it is a "used"/new car. I know it is not worth the MSRP of it, but I do know what this thing goes for on the open market. Shoot me an offer, atleast one better than the last jerk, and we can talk from there. .

You are only inviting criticism and berratement about your situation when you make posts that imply your wife is the devil woman who yells at potential buyers if they come up short of your asking price. Honestly, from the quote above, i pictured the flames of hell in the background, and your wife wielding a pitch fork. In all honesty, your wife is probably a really nice, well intentioned, realistic woman, who knows that this sports car isn't right for your family. But you're the one who brought her into this and made her sound so terrible, not us.

to be quite honest, a lot of the criticism does come from jealousy from most members. People are jealous that you won this car, that we all either PAID for, or want really badly, and you can't/don't want to keep it. FINE, no one is criticizing that fact. But by coming on here and asking TOP dollar for your FREE car, and portraying your wife as a devil woman, you attract only criticism, and no reasonable offers for your car.

honestly, it really seems like this
Guy1: Damn! my wife is being so unreasonable
guy2: its ok man, she's probably well intentioned
guy1: no man, she's being really a b1tch!
guy2: oh... sounds like she is being a b!tch then
Guy1: WHAT DID YOU SAY ABOUT MY WIFE!?

bottom line. don't come onto an enthusiast forum, asking top dollar for a car you won for free. if you want top dollar, don't say you won the car for free. Also, don't criticize and imply bad things about people in your personal life, on a public forum, and then be pissed if other people criticize them too.
