I'm planning to drill+tap a sensor straight into the side of the lower pan on the 7AT, as shown in the pic on page two of this GTM PDF:
http://www.gtmotorsports.com/Manuals..._Procedure.pdf . I already have the gauge mounted, just waiting for a good time to drain fluid and work on the pan (maybe while installing their valve body upgrade sometime this spring).
