VQ37VHR 400HP Package BF

VQ37VHR 400HP Package BF

im curious about this package and wonder if you have more dyno info

did you dyno every step?

especially the headers, then headers and manifold. my main question what is gained from the manifold work?

oh and will your headers bolt up to FI HFC? Looks like it should

also if the gain from the manifold is worth while, can you order headers/manifold only? as i already have every thing else.

Thanks in advance

Jim

Woah I didn't even realize this package until today!!!

Wonka2581 12-01-2013 08:56 PM

Sub'd I would like to know as well...:ugh2:

josh@z1 12-01-2013 09:55 PM

We do have a lot of info on this kit and can share a lot more than we have. We have been testing different combinations for over a year and have come up with the formula to make the power. I will see if we can put together some more info for you guys.

As for the package, it does come with DE test pipes for the headers to bolt on to the 370Z so your FI HFC's will not work. We are still working to perfect a set of headers with the correct flange for 370Z cats but there are a few things we nee to finish up before they are available for production.

Check this thread for updates!!

Thank You..:tiphat:

jofro6 12-01-2013 11:02 PM

wow, never noticed they offered an intake manifold (even if it is just a modified one)

Because it's not on their website, or it wasn't until now

mmendez 12-02-2013 12:40 PM

Z1 intake and headers combo

Intake manifold and headers combo... Does anyone has installed this yet?

VQ37VHR 400HP Package BF

+340whp seems good for its price....:xmas3:

LostSol 12-02-2013 12:44 PM

Im just wondering what they did to "modify" the manifold since they wouldnt say. Ported? Changed runner lengths? I dont need to know any secrets, but its tough to justify spending money on something that they "say" will make more power. Id like to see dyno numbers for just the intake manifold vs stock

Well that explains it then lol

Chuck33079 12-02-2013 12:49 PM

http://www.the370z.com/intake-exhaus...r-website.html

There's been a lot of talk about Z1/momentum headers here.

LostSol 12-02-2013 12:55 PM

Yeah the headers Ive seen quite a bit about, and I know they make power, its the intake manifold thats the unknown

They've been very quiet as far as the intake manifold. It's kind of annoying. :rofl2:

josh@z1 12-02-2013 01:45 PM

Don't be annoyed, we will be releasing more information as soon as we get all of the orders out from this weekend :)

Please check this thread - HERE

Mods merge maybe?

if you look at their picture you will see mostly what they did ...

Its pretty much what Ive done 1-2 years ago by clearing up the intake runner with the lower intake manifold.
because stock it look like this . * Click me *

Jordo! 12-02-2013 03:48 PM

How much is the IM going to be by itself at what % of the gains appear to be attributed to it alone?

I realize this is still in the prototype phase, but some more info on what to expect would be great!

Yes, I would like to see gains on a non tuned or non header car and price of mani by itself. But other than that thanks Z1 for bringing the products and packages.

Correct we do that, but that is not where the majority of gains are realized.

Jordo! 12-02-2013 05:11 PM

^^^ This.

Something like IM alone (or at least IM, intakes and tune if needed) with factory exhaust would be of interest.

Z1motorsports 12-02-2013 05:33 PM

When we get caught up from the big sale this weekend we'll list the Z1 VQ37 intake manifold for sale separately and post more information and test results. For now here are a couple different dyno comparisons that were already on our server.

Completely stock Z34 vs Z34 with Z1 400HP package

http://www.z1motorsports.com/imageGa...pPKvsStock.jpg

Back to back dyno runs swapping intake plenums only. Car is making a bit less than 340RWHP because it has high flow cats and an Injen Intake as opposed to test pipes and a Stillen Gen 3.

jlo370z 12-02-2013 05:43 PM

does the bottom one have the headers?

jofro6 12-02-2013 05:56 PM

sucks though that the headers will only mate up with their specific test pipes though... wastes money for those of us that already have a pair with our cbe

Megan370z 12-02-2013 06:00 PM

I recall that Mike the owner of that Z said the VVEL was tuned.

The 305 baseline was with Gen3, test pipes, invidia gemini and John's tune.

Current setup:
Stillen Gen 3 intakes
Momentum VQ35DE Headers
Test pipes
Straight exhaust with glass pack mufflers

Tuned by John @ Z1, played with the VVEL tuning too.

ANMVQ 12-02-2013 10:00 PM

Would be interested in just the manifold gains also, since I have all th other bolt ons, ex headers( dont want to swap those ).
And VVEL tuned ? I thought UPREV hadn't cracked that yet?
AN where the heck are you guy unlocking the torque from?

TerribleONE 12-02-2013 10:01 PM

I am not trying to be a d!ck, but why are all the modded dyno pulls started so much higher in the power band?

370Z JT 12-03-2013 12:06 AM

Who else with your package has hit 340WHP besides Mike?

mag_black 12-03-2013 12:34 AM

Definitely interested if we can see some more proven gains. Mike also uses genuine Momentum headers, correct? They're 2.25 as opposed to 2.5 Z1?

I was on the fence w/ these headers because of the mixed reviews.

edit: not trying to be skeptical. I welcome this kit as it gives us more options so :tiphat: to Z1.

Huck 12-03-2013 01:02 AM

I've been wondering what their "super secret intake mod" was since I heard about it at zdayz. I'll be interested to see what info they post up, I just might be down for one.

Zdayz 2014!!

Uprev has been able to play a little bit with the VVEL setting for over a year now but still in BETA phase which only the PRO Tuner can download it.
From what Ive seen and remember from their Pro-Tuner's mass-email. There isnt a set min & max and you could risk to run the valve into the piston if you were to be too aggressive.

Being aggressive with this setting is not really known because they are just a set of number without much meaning.

Nothing below 4K really matters in this car anyways. If you're under 4K it's time to downshift! :)

For the track I completely agree however in the city this is what you feel the most

wstar 12-03-2013 11:41 AM

Well, that's a fair point, but still I'd argue it's pointless to try to fix low-RPM power in a high-revving V6. If you're just cruising, then just cruise, at low RPM. If you want power, downshift. To stomp the gas at 2,000 RPM and complain that you need better tuning or parts seems silly when the answer is just "downshift".

Z1 400HP Pack

As a promotion, we will install and dyno tune the Z1 400HP Package at Z1 Motorsports for $995 for the first 3 people that sign on. We will share all the results in this thread. In order to qualify for this special, we are going to insist that the cars are 6MT models in good mechanical condition. Cars will also need a suitable exhaust, intake system, Uprev license, and lightweight flywheel (all of which we can also provide and install if necessary). Call us with questions or for more details.

Uggg! My car is in storage for the winter . I still may drive down from Chicago in the spring for this and the tune/flywheel.

Why only 6 spd? What about the auto guys
Or for that the X guys

Because auto has a higher drivetrain loss and you can't get a lightweight flex plate or anything else really to lower rotational mass

jofro6 12-03-2013 03:02 PM

so really it may not be making that much more hp than the guys dyno-ing around the 330 point? Just less loss due to the flywheel possibly?

they do offer a very good deal but doing this with only 6MT and already modded with other part... In my opinion, they are looking for high number to prove their kit is the best on the market right now ...

and they do have access to the VVEL and they might know a trick that other tuner doesn't which could give them a edge . even if its 5whp ... it is still 5whp more than others...

Well, it'd be shítty to be like hey guys, look! 320WHP! (20% drive train loss)

Oh... People had that before... Without those mods... Without a tune... Oh... (Btw, I have 322WHP in the wrong gear and no tune, and no headers... And auto... Lol)

And they just need to prove it makes 400 BHP on the proven platform. 6MT.
