Default Toyo Proxies R1R?

Was talking with a buddy of mine yesterday and found out I can get the Proxies R1R's at half price compared to the Michelin PS2's that I'm running now.

What are your guys opinions on these? Due to the tire sizes I run, my options are very limited, and my choices used to be Falken/hankook/Michelin. Falken is out of the picture, and I don't like the hankooks because they're so thin.

I also go through tires like a hot knife through butter... So I'm really leaning towards the proxies. I'm just wondering.. What's the catch?

They discontinued the tires I used to use, and then I had a couple sets start cracking in the corners.

The Toyos are among the lightest tires for any given size, but I think not quite as sticky, so it's a bit of a trade off.

I found toyo t1-r had the best grip I had ever experienced with tyres. I loved my set but the wear rate is quite high and once they start wearing they also loose performance. By the time they were 4mm they were a good mid range tyre. The initial performance was fab!
