Default Refinishing Nismo rims

I had some rash on one of my rims and the rest are not looking so good. I was wondering if anyone has any experience with getting them put through an acid bath and powdercoated to match the stock color as closely as possible. I wanted to have the insides of the wheel coated as well due to stock color looking pretty worn in there now.

Is this possible on stock alloys?

should be. i havent done it, but ive gotten quotes to get it done. its a little bit expensive because the stock wheel paint on the non gunmetal rims are a 3 stage, black base layer, then a silver on top, with a clear on top of that.

I am looking at just powdercoating them instead of doing the 3 stage paint. I don't care about matching the stock color perfectly since all 4 rims will be done, but I would like it to be as close as possible.

You should do them in white... Red car with white wheels is hot. I had a wheel powder coated years ago on my 350z track wheels as well as brake calipers and the paint is gorgeous and super durable but if your rash is really bad on the wheel they may have to sand down too much to where it is a bit noticeable. ...
Mine were only scratched from a drift event so the wheel came out perfect

I had mine done at durable powder coaters in export,pa. Mike does a good job compared to what I have seen in our area east of the city. This was fresh from him last winter.

Gun metal...picked it out of his
color book almost matches the calipers just a shade lighter the next one seemed too dark, I am happy with them and they are holding up well.

on red I like white and bronze, only reason I did not go bronze is because I did that on my 350z and had the intake tubes done to match the wheels and I thought bronze would look tacky under the hood.

Well since your wheels and engine typically are not seen at the same time unless you like to rock no hood for a weight mod lol then it would be ok to not match

He does the entire wheel, I did not get a lot of drive time on them, but the sidewalls are stiffer, they do feel a tad down on grip from the PSS, but the ride and mushy sidewalls are much better, I will be getting matching tires for the front come spring time!
