I need new tires within the next few weeks, and I'm finding that I hit exactly the wrong time. I run the 19" sport package wheels on my Z, and I use it for autocross and track as well as summer daily driving.
I'd like to go to 245/35 front, 285/30 rear, but it's hard to find any tires in that size. The RE-11s in that size are now out of stock on TireRack, and the RE-11As haven't been released in that size yet. Other possibilities I looked at are the g-Force Rival (no 19" sizes on TireRack) or the Direzza ZII (which have 19" sizes, but only in 245/40 and 275/35). So far, the options I see are either the Direzza ZII and put up with the smaller sizing, or go down a notch to the Potenza S-04s (or something similar). I guess the question is if having a slightly less sticky tire compound is worth 10mm of extra contact patch width in the rear. |
