g-Force Sport COMP-2 reviews?

I have a set of Comp 2s on my car and I love them so far. I have about 2,500 hard miles on them so far and they look new.

I have a set of Comp 2s on my car and I love them so far. I have about 2,500 hard miles on them so far and they look new. Two days after they went on the car I did a track weekend at Sebring and they have amazing grip. The Monday after that track weekend the Stillen Supercharger was installed so I've been harder on them than I typically would and so far I'm thrilled with the performance and how well they are holding up.

Just put on a set of S04 pole positions two weeks ago. The guy at America Tire did not like the Comp 2. It seems like you are trying to get the most miles out of a tire. Fact is all these tires were not designed to go many miles. Got 18k out of the rears and the fronts were fine. I replaced all 4 so I didn't have two different tires on vehicle. Wife's car. She has notice the car rides better, quieter, and handles better.

Glad we went with the Pole Positions. Here in So Cal we have very little rain. Winter is non existent. It is a sports car and sports car tires were not designed to be quiet or last long. If I can get two years out of staggered set on sports package, I'm good with that.

Default My 3,000 mile review

Most temps were below 70 degrees and being summer tires that will play into this. Take it with a grain of salt.

Ride quality. Much better than OEM. Softer ride but the accuracy in steering response is still there. Road feel is softened a bit but not horrible.

Road noise. Horrible. You think OEM is bad? Stay away from these. Under 42 mph you will have crazy cabin noise. It is ridiculous at 23-32 mph.

Dry traction. Very good once you get going. Easy to break the tires loose going forward. Lateral grip under acceleration is awesome. They do give you some warning and recover easily if you break loose. They like to spin (on dry road) in a forward motion, as in, they don't really kick out or get to squirrely on you. Big plus in my book. They can still come loose even at highway speeds when making evasive moves under heavy throttle. But again. They mostly just spin without causing your back end to kick out.

Wet traction. Don't bother and good luck. These are rated as scoring very well under wet road conditions. I say BS.

Never tracked with these but given their lateral capabilities paired with hot temps they should perform very well (as also stated by another poster above).

If I were to score these out of 10 stars... I'd give them 5.5. If it were warmer out and they had an equal chance to be judged under better conditions performed relative to those conditions, probably 6.5 stars. Primary fault is loss of road feel, soft sidewall, lack of decent rim protector, and easily breaking loose on most surfaces. Given their pattern and compund this shouldn't be a problem.

I would personally go back to OEM over these or at least upgrade to the RE050A or RE-11 tires. Even in 18" because they seem to be the best tire for this car. PSS also have mixed reviews but everyone lauds the RE series so that is always going to be a safe bet.

Hope this helps some of you in your tire purchase decisions. Bottom line... cool climates with rain = no joy.

Thanks. That influenced my decision a lot. Guess i'm going with some pole positions. I'm surprised to hear they are so crappy in the wet.

Glad I could help! Driven a Z or two with PPs (hehehe) and they did very well.
