Default Aftermarket Lugs and Wheel Locks

I woke up to my z on bricks 2 days ago.
Called the cops and they blamed me for not getting wheel locks.
It's amazing how they always are giving parking tickets out and pulling over tinted cars.
Yet they cannot patrol a 1 square mile town?!
Anyways, I was wondering if the guess with the aftermarket lugs and wheel locks can chime in and tell me which is not crappy and what not.
I don't really need aftermarket lugs I guess but I do need wheel locks.
Let me know!

Wheel locks are more trouble then they are worth. More often they will give you more problems then the thief which will have the tools he needs to remove them (hammer and wrench). Getting non standard lugs may just make them come back another night with the right tool.

Alarm with tilt sensor is your best best if you cannot afford to rent a garage.

I to am in the same boat which alarms, with tilt sencors are best I kinda feel silly getting a viper system. Anyone know anything better?

My biggest worry is it's a public garage. I throw a couple bill to male sure my cars get watching but... Looking to worry less about that's it

Hope I didn't jack your thread to much

aftermarket lugs dont work well with our stock wheels.

a super sensitive alarm might be in order.

If the car is parked near a window to you, you could setup a motion activated camera pretty cheap.

or, if you ask the city nicely, they might let you install a motion activated strobe or bright light, right over where you park as long as you can install it in a way that doesnt blind drivers, walkers, or in through peopels windows.

That blows! Sorry to hear. I have the Nissan locks and haven't had any issue with them. Copper anti-seize is your friend.

They could be trouble and can be defeated but it takes more time and effort and noise to do so. I will stick with them. Loosing the wheels wouldn't piss me off that much but if they did body damage I would be hot. That is my biggest fear concering wheel theft.

Alarm system is still probably the best bet though.

Viper - Digital Tilt Motion Sensor
That or something similar.

Take a look on youtube for all the videos of people removing wheel locks. They do deter people but the person who is doing it often enough knows how to remove them quickly and quietly.

I haven't gotten a system yet but I plan to because I have parked over night a few times on the street in the city and it always makes me worry.

I searched around and people say you can install this on the factory alarm, anyone here already done it?

Oh never mind just found this:

And this for more info on lug locks:
How can you protect your rims (OEM and aftermarket) from thieves?

Hope it helps, im getting the tilts installed regardless now.

Gorilla makes a locking lug system that uses 5 locks per wheel instead of 1. My son has them on his Edge sport. No big deal to install but the thief would have to be pretty determined and tenacious to go through 20 of them to jack your wheels. It is a pretty cheap solution, take a look.

I would also like to find a wheel lock quickly. I'm taking the car to NY and don't want to come out to my car missing wheels at a hotel.
