Default What Siize Spacers?

I'm getting my new tires in today. They are the same size as my current ones. What size spacers would you guys recommend using so that the rear tires come out a bit further towards the rear fender? I'm on swift springs if it matters.

Based on this angle, it looks like a 10mm at the most... but most likely a 5mm would work. Do you have another shot of straight down the side?

Yeah, I'd say nothing more than a 10mm, but a 5mm would probably be spot on.

The method I use is roughly 5mm < 1/4in and 10mm < 1/2in. So if you have a tape measure, just place it against the tire and look down from the fender and see how much tuck you have. Then that will give you a good idea of where you stand.

Right now I have on Volk ce28n's 19x9.5/10.5 +22 all around. I have on a 5mm spacer on the rears. 255/19/35 and 295/19/30 rubber. In the spring when I get new summer tires I'm going 265 up front though.

Damn, looks real clean. Thats the type of distance I want for my tires from the fender. I wouldmt mind a little bit more lol. Getting the tires in and getting them aligned so might as well knock out two birds with one stone.

Use your tape measure and pull 3" or so out from the wheel and place the face of it against the wheel lip. Looking down from over the fender, read how much is covered...

For example, you see the wheel is tucked 1 1/4" inside the fender. Rough math of 10mm~1/2", = 25mm(ish). So you'd want a 25mm spacer to bring the wheel "flush".

I have really been debating of going twin turbo. And from what I hear on average is that most reach the 500rwhp mark on a conservative build. My question is.....is this car made to handle that type of power? How in the world is a small car like this even going to hook? The tires would be all over ther place. Are there more cons then pros stacked up with this type of build and this particular type of car? It's not like we can just throw M/T's on it you know. I own a c6 z06 as well that dishes out 575rwhp without nitrous. But the car manages to take the power right and put most of it down. This car is all over the place with just the stock power when I hammer it. I need some advice. Maybe someone with this build can chime in? I just hi jacked my own thread

It happens.

As for the rubber, wider is better, that's why I went with the 295, some go 305 on 10.5" wheels, which is fine too. Also I'm 7AT, so I don't have nearly as much "instant" power as soon as you get on it so that's a negative.

But as for platform ability, most people have seen the motor handles FI quite well, it's the tranny that gives first... I think it's only rated to 399 TQ?? (Correct me if I'm wrong old wise ones) And of course that's with different uses and drivers specific.

Then there are the tunes, most I believe have a "500hp" tune for fun days or track days, but for daily use will have a safer 400-450hp tune. It all really depends, like anything else as long as you take care of it and have the proper supporting mods, it can be just fine.

Stock Engine Block?

That was what I was told. Feel free to chime in on that info. My concern afterwards was having that amount of power on this type of platform.
