Forgestar Rims

Well, looks like my respect for Forgestar just plummeted. I might not be placing an order at all and forking out the extra cash for some quality SSR Type-F's.

I'm sorry but that left rear is definitely a different color, it's not lighting. Don't accept it. Either make them replace both rears, or make them take back the whole set. Don't pay for shipping on any of it either. They know they made a mistake here, and they should be willing to correct it. If not, take them to a small claims court over it.

Oh and what's up with the lugnut thing? The holes are a different shape than the stock wheels, and thus don't fit the stock lugnuts? Mike, you've installed F-14's on your car already, but with those open-ended racing nuts IIRC. Did you ever get to try the stock nuts on them?

No I didn't ever try the stock lugs. Aparently they are too big for the holes according to Dave. Not unusual for an aftermarket wheel not to accomodate stock logs, especially the monsters that come on the Z.

I don't really care one way or the other, I just want to be prepared rather than surprised when I show up at the tire/wheel place to get everything mounted up. Does anyone know of a specific model number for lugs that will work on F-14s on the 370Z?

Companies need to realize the effects of the internet and the consequences of their actions. It's not difficult at all to share information or experiences with an exorbitant amount of people. They are only shooting themselves in the foot right now.

Forgestar is rectifying the situation by allowing me to ship them back for a full refund, but that is not what I really want to do. I really just want two new rear wheels that match the front because I really do like these wheels and they are a great buy. The left rear isn't that much of a different color, but it is a little darker than the front wheels, and I just can't live with that. The blemishes alone on the left rear should be enough for them to take the wheels back, though because I was expecting a "brand new" set of wheels. Mike, you are right. They look like a mixed set of used wheels, which is not what I paid for. If Forgestar was willing to provide me with two brand new rear wheels that match the front then I would be a content customer (except for having to wait almost 10 weeks by the time they would have arrived).

Mike at DDM is right about the lugnuts. It is that huge washer/flange thing on the stock lugnuts that causes the problem. The stock lugnuts would fit if it weren't for that.

Thanks for all of the positive feedback guys. At times I thought maybe I was seeing things (at least with the left rear) or being too pushy requesting that two new rears be made for me.

They should be rectifying the situation by giving you what you paid for OR allowing you to just return it all for a full refund. It shouldn't be "well, if you don't like it return it". They obviously screwed up here. The right rear is hideously different. Even the left rear would drive me F'n bonkers!

bad business practice to basically say "F-it, I don't want to fix it just send them back"

Wow, very disappointed @ Forgestar Rims...
This is making me reconsider and why the hell are they giving you an attitude?
I guess they don't need our business if they acted that way to you and they messed up.
They should've even offered to replace those rear's.
Messed up in my opinion and Caravanshaka, I hope all goes well with your shipment.
I will wait to see what happens to you before I make my final choice.

Keep in mind this is just one incident though. Sometimes miscommunications happen, bad things happen, blah blah. I meant what I said above about the guy with the problem wheels not accepting it in his case, but my order with them still stands, unless I see this develop into a pattern rather than an isolated incident.

This is very true. It could be that this is a case of me being that one person who gets a raw deal and has a bad experience with them. I think that I am the first person to get a set of F-14s on his 370z besides Mike @ DDM, so hopefully, like joshj808 said, this is not going to be the start of a trend when others start receiving their wheels.
