Need TPMS programmed? Read

Discount Tire. That is all.

I took my car into Nissan and they wanted $100 for one TPMS sensor to be programmed. Needless to say, I left without paying that. So I thought maybe Discount Tire can do it. Called them up. They said bring it in and we'll program all of the sensors for free. They pulled out their tool which registered all of the sensors, technically re-registering the old 3 and first time registering the new one. Drove out with a full wallet, no TPMS light, and only 15 minutes of my time.

Long story short, take your sensors to Discount Tire and they'll do it for free or really cheap.

no need to re-program unless you bought new ones...and most often it would be the dealer that has the tools to program it as you'd need to have the identification code.

I did have a new one and Discount Tire was able to program it because they have a tool that reads the sensor and detects the code and all of the other information. It's legit.

Good tip. I have my own reset tool, but haven't had the need to reprogram Nissan ones yet. Actually, I don't even have the monitors anymore.

yah, if you bought new ones then they can program it. there's a ID on the module itself and if one knows what it is, they can program it.

im with Mike though... i dont use TPMS on my aftermarket wheels.

If it were me, I wouldn't have this at all. I'm old fashioned, it's easy to feel the if the car needs air or visually as well. But I'm just happy I was able to get away with all of this with no money spent.

Yes this relearns the current sensors. It does not program new ones, but that's a really good DIY if you need to have them relearned.

I am not vouching for the usefulness in all situations, simply providing a link to the method Baer mentioned, since the mention with no source will inevitably make people curious.
