Installing TPMS?

I will be receiving my replacement TPMS in the mail tomorrow and I was wondering how to install and/or program? I have absolutely no idea how these things work. Thanks.

U gotta remove the tire from the wheel first. Then unscrew the Tpms sensor from the wheel.

Well yeah I know that but isn't there some kind of programming involved? It can't just work just like that can it?

Has to be programmed so you car recognizes it.

This post goes into the details using a reset tool from Tire Rack.

Will the dealer do it under warranty or anything?

Why did you get replacement TPMS? If it was a warranty issue, you should have gone to the dealer to have them replaced at their expense.

I was in a wreck and the valve stem on the TPMS was sliced in half...

Oh. Then no, that won't be covered under warranty. Might check with your insurance. The reset fee ought to be covered.

The accident was technically my fault though... How much do dealerships normally charge for 1 TPMS to be programmed? I bought mine off a fellow forum member.

there is a procedure to do it yourself on our trucks but i'm not sure about 370's. might wanna try calling a few dealerships around you and see what they have to say about it. some may charge a full hour while others may only charge $20 or less. it's worth a shot.

Your fault or not, it's still covered. If you put in a claim that is. I had a wreck quite a few years ago that screwed up my neck and back and they paid the chiropractor's bills.

Yes but there would be a deductible or something involved..... My quarterpanel damage was $560 and my deductible is $1000 so I had to pay that out of pocket.
