Default confused about valve stems when getting new tires

Hello, I am a bit confused about what to tell the tire shop when getting new tires. I have the stock 18"s from the non sport model. Just bought new tires, without valve stems. I want chrome ones and the shop I go to doesn't have chromes. Do I need new valve stems even and if so are there special ones so the TPMS works? I am so confused

they can re-use the valve stems as it is part of the TPMS unit. you wont be able to get chrome ones unless you are willing to not use TPMS and can find one that fits your wheel.

So I don't even need to buy new valve stems when getting new tires put on the stock rims? Also, I declined the TPMS rebuild kit when getting these tires. Do ours need to be rebuilt or is that even possible? Thanks again

Basicly I don't need chrome I just don't want them to be nasty black ones. So are you saying this isn't possible for them to be black since they are going to use the TPMS?

nope. you can reuse the ones on the wheels, no need to rebuild anything unless you were getting error messages.

yah, they will just re-use the TPMS module which has the metal valve stems. it is part of the unit. i too HATE rubber valve stems!

I would recommend the rebuild kit. They're not actually rebuilding the TPMS, it's just new seals and such.
Since they drop (or should drop) the TPMS when removing the tire, it's not a bad idea to get new seals. Should be around $5 each tire.
