Unhappy curb jump!

Well the other night i took a turn a little too wide and smacked i to the side of a curb with my front passenger wheel. I have a big scuff on the middle of the spoke, and a nice size dent along the lip of the rim(stock rays). Its still holding air, but i have a feeling i bent the rim Also, the steering wheel now shakes when i get up to speed. This also leads me to beleive that the tie rods and all those goodies are bent up too.

Anyone have damage like this on their z? How much was the repairs? Im probably gonna just get some new rims if they cant repair the stock wheel, but how much would the suspension parts end up costing me? This came at a horrible tine for me :/

more than likely just the rim is damaged and that kind of damage can cause it to loose balance and make the car shake. unless you hit the curb at speed you probably didn't damage anything else. i had a car wash (autobell) damage one of my wheels, which they replaced. think retail was like 1100 but if you can find a used one on here i'm sure you can get it for much less.

i was going a decent speed. The rim is indented where the curb first his the wheel. Also there is a smudge on my bumper because that hit the curb too. I got down at floor level and it kinda looks like the wheel is pushed in a quarter or a half an inch, or maybe my eyes suck

take it and get an alignment to be sure, then go from there. might be worth doing an insurance claim on.

I had a situation where a 50 pound metal caster flew off a 18 wheeler on the freeway and hit my car and bent the rim (also took my front bumper and some other things with it). They weren't able to fix it, but I was able to find the rim on here from another member who was willing to split his set for about $350 for the rim. Perhaps try the classified section? As for the other components, everything held up just fine other than the damage to the lower control arm where it took the hit. I had to redo my alignment, but the rest of the suspension was OK. Our cars are pretty sturdy fortunately so I wouldn't worry too much.

I had a ford mustang one timr and i forgot how it happened but i ripped up my tie rods and a bunch of other crap. My steering wheel has that all to familiar wobble, so i keep associating the damage on the to the damage i did on the mustang. Ugh

Sounds more like the case, just a badly bent rim.

a new wheel is more expensive than those oem suspension components.

if you had a buddy that had another z w/sport pkg you could have had him swap one of his wheels and tested to see how it drove then you would know for sure if it was more than a wheel.

Oh man, best of luck getting the beast back on the road.

Hopefully nothing else is damaged.
