Default Nicked rims :'(

I'm mad beyond comprehension. . .

In my usual attempt to avoid all other cars in whichever lot, I just pulled into a spot in the very back of one and managed to nick my front rim on the f'ing curb. I'm a great driver and never do this stuff which makes me even more incensed. I thought I had a bit more room and I'd like to blame the Z's blind spots, but it's my error either way and it shouldn't have happened.

Now, what have you guys done about this stuff? Do I need to worry about anything rusting? Is there any kind of rim-repair a shop can do where they buff it out and recoat it or anything?

I'll post a shot of it in a bit. Any help is greatly appreciated. So pissed..

Thanks,
Matt

There's plenty of rim repair shops in California. Depending on the damage, you might not need to do anything about it. Search "rim repair" on Google Maps.

Thanks for the info -- I didn't even know such a thing was possible. I'll have to jump on Yelp and find a reputable shop I guess. God knows what it'll cost -- if anyone has ideas or has had this done before, let me know.

For anyone curious, here's what FML looks like:

I misjudged a U-turn three days after I bought my car, WTF! Talk about pissed the fuc* off! I called the dealer and ordered one immediately. Luckily the dealer only charged me 60% of the original price. Once the new rim was installed, I dropped of the scuffed one and had it repaired. It's amazing these shops can do to fix the damage and match the so called "ghost silver" color, I was extremely happy with the results. I now have a back up in case of another brain lapse.

Your damage is not that bad at all, most non-gear heads won't even notice that. A good rim shop should be able to fix this without issue. Make sure that you do your research. My cost was $100 and the rim looks new now.

You will be fine, most wheel fix it places can def fix it, where you will forget it ever happened. I would suggest make sure thats allll they do though, b/c some of these wheel/tire vendors that also do that they say, arent as good.

Call 2 or 3 places and whoever your most comfortable with go with them. I would say they will probably at max charge you $100.00 to fix that.

At the time all I cared about was getting it fixed ASAP. I wanted a new rim for my new car.

I know exactly how you feel. My right rear OEM wheel was scraped exactly like that 2 days before I got my new wheels. I had just finished washing the car and I was pulling it out of the driveway. My scuff is a little longer than yours. I haven't done anything to repair it yet.
