Michelin Pilot Super Sport

I just ordered a set of Super Sports in these sizes. 275-35-19 and 305-30-19

yah most people usually go based on price and tread life. like they would buy expensive wheels but cheap out on tires.

im a big fan of Bridgestone (mostly for the snappy response they provide on their summer tires) but that doesnt stop me from experimenting other brands.

especially not when tires are like 5+lbs lighter each and test show very good results.

Will 305's fit the 19" sport rays? I thought they rubbed.

Also, I can't find any info on what these tires weigh

Looking at the Advan Neova AD08 -- tire rack gives them about the same ranking as the RE-11's -- guessing they cost less?

I know a couple people who run 305 width tires on Rays wheels and have no issues, even with a 20mm spacer.

I think the sport RAYS in the rear are 10.5 inches wide, 295 is more ideal on a 10.5 inch than 305's. I'm putting these on 10 and 11 inch wheels.

OEM Rays are 19x9 Front, 19x10 Rear

305 on 10" rims is out of spec. I wouldn't track the car like that.

Sorry, I meant to say the Nismo Rays. Aren't those 10.5 inches wide in the rear?

I think that the perfect tire sizing for the Rays wheels is 255/285 front and rear, is that what you might recommend for a tire setup size wise?

yep, they are 9.5 front ET40 and 10.5 rear ET23.

You can't go wrong with any Michelin...had them on my truck as well as my old car...best tires I've owned.

I've been driving on them for a couple of weeks now and my first intitial impression is that they are a much better tire than what I had on previously which were NT-05's
Much quieter for street driving and a lot more planted and stable with the spirited driving that I've been doing on the ramps. I don't do much driving in the rain but I would also guess that they will be way better in wet conditions as well.

I actually went lapping this weekend with them and my intial first impressions were that they had pretty good turn in and decent grip, but I was trying different pressures to find what is ideal. The track is still pretty green so I wasn't pushing too hard but for a street tire that has a treadwear rating of 300 it has very decent grip. I think it will offer about the same amount of dry weather grip as my old Yokohama AD08's but a lot more comfortable on the street with better wet performance and longer life.
It still doesn't touch a full R compound or slicks though so I'll save these just for the street and back to slicks for me.

I'd definitely recommend these for any Z.

Nice write-up. I have had mine on my Z since 4-16-11 and I absolutely agree with all of your impressions. I think they are great tires. I even got my car featured on the Pilot Super Sport web site. It is probably no big deal, but it is cool to me.
