Anyone have unique colored wheels?..think Porsche GT3

So I've been considering getting new wheels to distinguish my Z from every other one...unfortunatley black/grey/gunmetal will not do this.

I have reason to believe that going completley gt3 style could look rather cool on my black 370.

I searched, but (not to my suprise) found noone who has done this. Besides a few with colored lips.

Opinions?

One of the guys on the forum painted his sport wheels lime green. The pictures are floating around somewhere. I just don't feel like looking.

black cars will go with any color rims. You just need something else to go with the rims.

Obnoxiously colored wheels take a lot to pull off. You need a pretty worked on car to get it to look right IMO.

I love brightly colored wheels...

^_^

Not everyone's taste... but that's ok.

My old DC5 w/cotton candy blue...

There's a gray GD subie around my neighborhood with hot pink wheels. Looks pretty good IMHO

I would love to do the redish/pink like that GT3RS

And in my opinion, it be best on an aftermarket wheel

Yea I think Im going to go with a concave multi spoke wheel (8 spokes+)

Im really liking the red.

I would have to pair it with either a red painted side skirts / and or some other accents

The trick i think is going to be to make it exotic looking rather than riced...

looks sweet on white

I have seen the gray GT3 RS with red wheels in person and it is sooooo sexy....

It helps if you have the wheel color highlighted somewhere else on the car. Nice accents, etc.

Hmm, Im very nervous to start paiting accents all over the car.

Do you think vinyls could work> IE on the mirros, and perhaps the fangs and somwhere on the side. Just so if I HATE it, i can easily remove it and just sell the wheels.

this would look very cool with the amuse kit as well IMO....

Please don't start painting bits of your car colors to make the wheels match.

Point of making wheels a different color is to stand out.. when you start to change other things it gets a bit obnoxious.

WarmAndSCSI's wife has a white Z with raspberry-colored wheels, and he has a blue Evo with lime green wheels. Both look pretty clean.

To each their own.

I know, but those GT3's are so fly.

Also, I would opt for vinyl if possible, being it could be easily removed.

TypeOne 02-17-2011 02:17 PM

It's going to be really hard to put vinyl over a wheel...

And GT3s are fly because they are GT3s... not 370zs with crazy colored wheels and accessories.
