Default Touch up for rims

Hello all, new member, love the forums.

Just purchased an 09 Touring with base wheels which have some scuffs.

Has anyone found an "off the self" paint that is a close match for touch up. Can't have wheels refinished right now.

Thanks for any help

ive not had much success finding a near match. you'll want to consult a wheel repair shop as the have the multi-coating to do these hyper silvers properly.

Yeah mine are "scuffed" too. I park like a fool, I admit it. Curbs hate me. I can park my wife's Santa Fe on a dime but have a very hard time avoiding curbs and parking stops in the ole Z.
There is an outfit around Orlando area that is a mobile tire refinishing outfit packed into one small van. I guess when I sell/trade it in I'll get the wheels fixed up for the new owner....

Base wheels don't even bother save for a real set. Welcome by the way.

My advice is have it professionally done if you don't want to wait for new rims.

The challenge with wheel touch up -

There is no off-the-shelf paint for the Hypersilver color. I believe it will always need to be custom mixed. The challenge is that it has a black undercoating and is hard to match the right color silver on top.

Your average touch up paint will leave some paint blobs.

See my example - I almost got the tone right but would have been better off with an airbrush or rattle cans.

Wheel is perfect now that I had it professionally redone.

xrayz- you can buy spot bondo for cheap and use wheel paint for all 4 wheels.
it's going to be a different color, but at least it will have zero curb marks.

check out duplicolor wheel paint.

they sell hyper silver kits, but i seriuosly doubt it's going to match our hypersilvers.

check online for diy's on how to fix curb marks on wheels. GL!
