TSW Nurburgring
Some of you may have read my earlier post about having a wheel damaged when a moron in a pickup came over on my causing me to hit a median. I called the good people at Wheelsdirectonline.com from work today and talked to them about these wheels. I am looking at 19x9.5" up front with a +41 offset and 19x10.5 with a +21 offset. They are extremely reasonable and I have had TSW wheels on a few cars before. I am thinking seriously about pulling the trigger and ordering these. What do you guys think?

I like em and TSW is pretty good quality.
I'd look at the 19x9.5" +32 mm fronts, though. Should be more flush that way. ;) |
yea i'd definitely go with a bit more aggressive in the front, or just maybe run a spacer if thats the only size they come in.
|
Guys, he has spacers on his car, so we are going to use those to help the offsets and it also helps to keep him from having to take them off and on. Trust me, I wouldnt suggest something unless I knew it, and this man knows his stuff.

Well if you don't have to use spacers, then why not just get rid of them? If the wheels come in a more favorable offset, I'd just ditch the spacers and run a lower offset wheel. Then again, what do I know?
|
Yes, I am already running 15mm spacers in the front and I don't want to have to remove the lugs. Chris was very helpful today and I am about 95% sure that I am going to get these wheels. I also think that going to a 10.5" in the rear will look better with my 305/30 tires back there. I am also running 20mm spacers in the rear as well.
I guess the guy in the pick up truck that forced me against the median actually did me a service. I would have waited thu the winter to get new wheels, but now that I have done some research I have found that there are good quality, great looking wheels out there for a reasonable price. chris do you have picts of the back side of the wheels? would it be able to clear V2 type spacers with studs build-in? (this is they type i have in 10-25mm sizes)
not bad! i like these mesh wheels. http://tsw.com/showroom/pictures/TSW...RBUEGRING2.jpg |
Let me see if I can ask the manufacturer, but unless you have something oddly protruding out of your spacers, their shouldnt be any issue. A spacer is supposed to mimic the factory hub part, so I dont see what problem you could have, but let me see what I can do.
|
Wheels are not bad.

TSW Aftermarket Wheels 101 Video. What makes TSW aftermarket wheels special? Our video explains|tswalloywheels.com
This is a video and it shows the rear of a snetterton, which is very similar to pretty much all their wheels. Its right around 1:24, so take a peek and it should tell you if your spacers should work, which again shouldnt be an issue at all. |
One problem with TSW is that they are heavy, my last set was 30lbs a piece for 19x9.5
This is 9.5 with 35mm offset http://img42.imageshack.us/img42/47/imag0005lg.th.jpg |

Open ended lug nuts ftw. ;)
|
here you guys go.........
Weights: - 19 x 9 = 22 lbs - 19 x 10.5 = 22 1/2 - 23 lbs - 20 x 9 = 23 lbs - 20 x 10.5 = 24.5 lbs - 25 lbs Specifications: - Rotary Forged - Cast Construction not sure if that is all the sizes are listed there (9.5?) but a quick search revealed the above. lighter than the forgestar, and IMO, more attractive. |
That's light for this size!
|
I like these wheels. The weights are not bad at all. My volks are only slightly lighter than that.
|
That seems really light. If that is the case, go for it

i guess the last question is whether these will clear the akebono calipers... any news on this?
|
Fitment is not really gauranteed by the manufacturer, but then again they say a 10.5 with a +15 wont fit. AZ if he gets them will have spacers, but I am sure its easy to test real quick if he can.
|
Hey guys, so I spoke to TSW and got some good news. They say apparently they have not run into any issues with the Nurburgring and caliper clearance, so thats a good thing.
|
 great news indeed! :p
|
So is there a good fitment (read offset) in 20 or 19 for our cars, without spacers?
|
TSW Nurburgrings have been purshased!!!
I went ahead and ordered the Nurburgrings from Chris at Wheelsdirect today. I can't say enough about the great customer service I have received from Chris thus far. It is very obvious that he is extremely knowledgable, professional and helpful. I got what I consider a great price and hopefully it won't take too long to get the wheels.
Here is what I ordered: TSW Nurburgring RF wheels in gunmetal with the mirror finish front. 19x9.5 with +41 offset and 19x10.5 with +27 offset. REMEBER THAT I ALREADY HAVE SPACERS! I am running 15mm H&R spacers up front and 20mm in the rear. That is why the offsets may look a little strange. I do not want to go thru the hassle of removing my spacers and having the lugs changed back to OEM. I will do a test fit of the 9.5's with no spacers when I get them to see if there is any interference with the Akebono's and let you all know. I really need to cool it on the Z for a while. This will be new tires, new wheels and a new Stillen exhaust that I had installed this morning, all in the last month. My bank account is sqealing! Luckily my outstanding wife :bowrofl:has no problem with any of it. AZ Roadster |
congrts man, can't wait to see pics!
|
verry cool azroadster! cant wait for picts. congrats. :p
|
In 19", if it was my car I would probably run 19x9 +32 and 19x10.5 +27 which is just a little bit more aggressive then stock front and rear. If you ran 20" I would say to do the 20x8.5 +20 and 20x10.5 +25, and that should look pretty good.
I will be honest though, the way these wheels are designed without the lip, the 20" would probably look more like 21's on the Z. Az is gonna get his wheels in a few days, and I can bet they are gonna look perfect for the Z, JUST the right size. |

I was looking into these wheels too! Waiting for pics. |
Dont worry guys, AZ is going to be surprised, b/c I am pretty sure I am going to get them to him sooner then he thought. I will keep you guys up to date on the tracking so we can all hound him when he gets them haha.
|
I got your message today Chris and I appreciate the quick delivery. Don't worry guys - I will get the wheels on as soon as possible. I can't wait to see them myself!
AZ |
waiting on results on these. AZ did you get the matte gunmetal finish or the polished?
|
i think he got the matte gunmetal with the polished face.
|
He got the gunmetal with mirror machined face as they call it, as he wanted to be different.
|
Yea, I got the gunmetal with the mirror finish face. Too many yellow Z's out there with black wheels. IMO on a yellow car the all black wheels just fade away and aren't seen. I will have the best of both worlds - shiny finish on an essentially black wheel. I thought about the bronze finish for a fleeting moment, but I was afraid that they just would not go with the yellow.
AZ |
you got them already? post some teaser pics!
|
Don't have them yet. I will definitely post some pictures when I get them.
