Hi Christian,
I believe that the newer construction of the mold form forging is cheaper to manufacture. I'm not too sure about specifics though as Rays has not released any information on this new technology. These are still very strong forged wheels in line with the original TE37s. Regarding weight, these are actually lighter than the original TE37 wheel. Volk has managed to shed some weight while strengthening some strategic locations. They have informed us that the weight has been shed without sacrificing the strength of the wheel, and the weight difference is approximately 1 lb lighter than a standard TE37 on a 18x10.5 wheel. The weight savings could be more on a 19 inch wheel however they have not begun final production/delivery yet. Last edited by SE; 08-19-2010 at 12:02 PM. |
