Upgrading Tires for Stock 18"s

Yes, it will work as I did this before upgrading my wheels. However, there will be some of the "bubble" effect since the tire is obviously wider than the wheel. It's not bad looking but it is noticeable.

I kept the 18 size when I bought new wheels but just increased the width to Front 9" and Rear 10". The tires fit perfect.

I was thinking about doing the same thing but im a noob when it comes to tires and i was wondering what you meant when you said the "bubble" effect?
also, can someone explain to me what the second number means in terms of tire information? the "45". again im a noob so please bear with me. thanks in advance.

The first number is the tire width.
The second number is the sidewall width.
Third number, is obviously the tire diameter.

So what is the widest we can go on stock 18's without looking wrong? I don't know what bubble effect looks like, but I prob won't like it. I just bougtht a Z and the stock wheels look better in person than they do in the pics, so I may just get slightly wider tires and spacers to get the look right. Just need to know how big I can go.

Front: 245/45/18 are fine and fit perfectly without "bubbling"

Other Options for Rear: 265/40R18 or 255/45R18 for the rear. Just note that these sizes have a slightly larger overall diameter (1.2-1.3% difference). Translates to less than 1mph difference on the speedo.
