Yeah I was thinking that but the washer is metal all the same. my guess would be that when the lug is tightening down, the washer would press against the wheel, and the back of the lug would spin on the washer's face, so that it doesnt actually on the wheel and tear it up. I really need to see one of these lugs in action in person to get a good feel for this.

can someone tell me how the washer attaches to the lug nut? Does it have a ridge or tab that keeps the washer from sliding off the end? or can you just pull the washer on or off? Answers = product
