Anyone running OEM tires with 19x9.5/10.5?

Anyone replace their Rays with aftermarket 9.5 and 10.5, and still use the oem tires? If so, any pics?

You can, but it'll stretch enough the lip protection is useless. I had Volk 9.5/10.5 with 245/35 and 275/35 tires on my 350Z. So far my favorite is 255/35 and 285/35 with these wheels.

With my current wheels, I'm running 255/35 and 285/30. I didn't know there was plenty of clearance for more sidewall, so next time I'll get something along the lines of 245/40 (or 255/40?) and 285/35 (or 295/30?).

Any pics of the old 350z tires/wheels? I plan to run the OEMs until I need new tires, and that could be awhile, since here I am on on 1 yr anniversary and only have 6k on it.

I've got some pics of my 370z with 9.5/10.5 volks and the OEM tires. I will post them later this evening. They are on my home pc.

Here you go.. They look pretty good. Would probably look better with a little wider tire front and rear (therefore more sidewall) but I am happy with the way it turned out. Saved $1,000 for new tires

^^ Actually those fit nice. I wasn't exactly sure what target width these tires were designed, but they are definately not stretched at all. In fact, I'm not sure you can really tell that they didn't come like this. Still appear to have a good rim protector on it as well. Thanks, makes my decision easier on not immediately purchasing tires. Now, if only I can get over the terrible noise/grinding they make when cold and turning.

The OEM tires are within spec, to fit on a 9.5/10.5 combo. A nice way to save some bucks, and reuse your OEM tires.

If you are reconsidering the Volk's just give us a PM.

Save your $$.. 10 or 20 mm might look a bit better but to the untrained eye no one will know the difference.

As for the sound.. it's the car not the tires. I had these same tires on a different car and they were not loud at all. I put some Michelin Pilot Primacy tires on my stock sport wheels (found a dirt cheap used set on ebay). They are horribly loud. I don't think this car has any sound-deadening material. Must be a weight saving thing. I drive a sports car so I don't really give a **** but I did notice it. Not trading for a Lexus any time soon

Would like them, but the price range is out of my budget - the wife says one budget; any money I use for the Z, goes away from the racecar. So, honestly, the racecar is more fun, and wins out.

As for the tire noise, I agree the car doesn't have much sound deadening, and that doesn't bother me. The noise I am talking about is the frozen rubber scrapping the road surface during hard turns, low speeds, and cold days. Many discussions on this before - its just disappointing, as I get reminded about it every day I pull out of my driveway to go to work. My days in the tire design world, we would have never had an OEM tire do that (I was designing the high performance tires for Porsches, BMWs, turbo PT, etc).

Regardless, thanks for the pics, look forward to my future wheel decisions.
