Well, if you are convinced that the issue is with the car, then tires aren't the issue, and having wider and stickier tires won't fix it. Your car is still going to break loose and go side way, only that the car's grip will be even more bipolar (tire temp increasingly important due to compound).
Have you gotten together with BGTV8 yet? Or anybody in your local car club that's experienced with high powered cars? Many that have commented (here and the VDC Off thread) have some combinations of good/great understanding in handling dynamics, long seat time in a boosted Z, strong mechanical background. If you don't believe in their assessments, then you should seek some in-person diagnosis of your car.
