Default My horn goes off while pressing volume buttons and turning...

Hey guys. I know easy solution is to not press or turn down volume when turning...

But occasionally I'll have really loud music, turning into my neighborhood so I hold the volume button down while turning and my horn goes off. I'm not pressing my horn I swear. This has happened on multiple occasions, most times I think it's happened but I can't hear it because of my music. Anyone else experience this? Any fixes?

Likely your clockspring or one of the horn wires is shorting to the ground.

yah, sounds like ur steering wheel was messed with. did u buy ur car used?

i suggest taking apart the steering wheel and inspect. it's not hard to do (be sure to unplug the battery and let it sit 15min or so after stepping on da brake a good 30sec) , check da diy section. i read something about people breaking the torx screw so might want to look into dat before u begin.

Even though you're not pressing the actual horn button, I'm taking a wild guess in saying that there is probably some flex in all of the plastic while you're holding the button down.

Try tapping the button as you turn and see what happens.

Ya I bought the car used. It was bone stock. None of the bolts were messed with anywhere seriously. Clean title too. I'll take it apart later.
