Michelin Pilot Super Sport

Does anyone have any experience with the Super Sport yet? It is tire replacement time for me within a few months and would appreciate any feedback on these if anyone has it.

I was thinking of those, but want to keep the OEM tire sizes.

For those debating on PSS'...

Specs:

Wheels

Front: 19x9.5 +17
Rear: 19x10.5 +18

Tires

Front: 255/19/35
Rear: 295/19/30

Just took them out for a cruise today and spent 9 hours throwing them in the curves. I couldn't get the VDC light to come on once lol And there was no understeer problems noted. I tried to take a 90* turn @ 80 and I couldn't even feel slip...

You'd be paying a premium for max performance rather than extreme performance tires (max is below extreme...I know, a stupid categorizing system). I wouldn't be too concerned about moving away from OEM tire widths.

Looking for super sticky tires or otherwise really good tires?

If you dont care for maximum grio combined with low tread life, go continental extreme contact dw.

I am kind of an over analyzer when it comes to tires, and I honestly think that all things considered, unless you want something that will only last 10K miles or so, the ContinentalExtremeContact DW is the best tire out there and the tests will back that up.

They will be on my Z in another 2K miles or so when the Yokohama's give up the ghost.

I will end up getting about 17,000 miles out of the RE05A's and could probably go more if I wanted to be out of my comfort zone. I fully expect to get at least that out of the PSS's -- probalby much more.

Tires are a funny thing. Regardless of the specs and test results, I have found people go with what they know, by and large. If BF Goodrich made something beside the G-Force for the 370Z, I would probably go with that brand. I have had nothing but good results from Goodrich on many vehicles, Z's included (old school Z's).

yah most people usually go based on price and tread life. like they would buy expensive wheels but cheap out on tires.

im a big fan of Bridgestone (mostly for the snappy response they provide on their summer tires) but that doesnt stop me from experimenting other brands.

especially not when tires are like 5+lbs lighter each and test show very good results.
