kdo2milger 12-02-2009 03:19 PM

in for mounted pics :yum:

Ryan@Forged 12-02-2009 03:30 PM

They look better than I ever imagined they would. Can't wait to see them mounted on the car.

It was a pleasure dealing with you :tiphat:

DIGItonium 12-02-2009 03:31 PM

Typically wheel finishes look the same in any angle and lighting, unless it's polished like the lip.

I don't quite know how to describe the Formula Silver finish. It looks like gunmetal at a certain angle and lighting, but the color becomes fairly light at a another angle with brighter lighting. This is a very nice color, and it definitely beats having gunmetal. Because of this finish, I had a hard time taking accurate pictures of this finish.

ssqpolo 12-02-2009 04:30 PM

those are beautiful...

Sharif@Forged 12-02-2009 04:50 PM

Gorgeous, and very unique. Formula Silver is a very rich color...something in between silver, and gunmetal with a lot more depth.

AK370Z 12-02-2009 10:27 PM

 MUST POST PICTURES!

LiquidZ 12-02-2009 10:39 PM

The more I look at GT-S's the more I want a set. I think the Z34 looks the best with a nice set of 5 stars anyways.

OMGWTFBBQ 12-04-2009 07:38 PM

This might be a taboo thing to do in a thread like this, but what offsets did you get?

Don't hurt me. :wtf2:

kdo2milger 12-04-2009 07:41 PM

should be 33 upfront and 25 out back...

According to the invoice, it's +40mm for the front and +8mm for the back. The front requires 10mm spacers to clear the calipers since this is the closest offset for the 370Z.

kdo2milger 12-04-2009 08:37 PM

WoW those are way off from what i thought...:ugh2:

azn370z 12-04-2009 09:10 PM

I think another guy got 35 and 15 from the same shop.

Hahah yea I'm not very good with offsets. The Volk LE-37T on my 350Z were +22mm on both. My dad has a set of 18" SF Challenges on his Z32 with nicer lip, so I'm very happy with these wheels... nice lip to compliment the fenders without looking overly exaggerated. I'll try to order the tires next week and get them installed during Christmas break (i.e., time off work).

kdo2milger 12-04-2009 10:39 PM

yah i think i was thinking of the volks offsets...

usually higher upfront and less outback...

man one of these days ill make up my mind on rims...:ugh2:

DIGItonium 12-04-2009 10:54 PM

Haha I fell in love with the GT-S when they first came out. In fact, I liked the SF Challenges, but I didn't like the rim texture and numerous screw heads.

Post #1 edited with some more detail pictures.

Bare with me... I'm trying to see if my friend is sure about buying my Sport wheels, but I may go ahead and order tires next week.

kdo2milger 12-04-2009 11:23 PM

are you thinking about keeping the sport wheels and mounting winter tires?

I don't think so. I had my 350Z for over 6 years. At least 4 of those years I had the LE-37T and never went back to the ugly 17" stock wheels even through winter time! Crazy eh? Haha... other than some mishaps (curb rash, but fixed), the wheels still looked beautiful.

What wheels are you looking for?

kdo2milger 12-04-2009 11:38 PM

idk...

volks
rota
vip
etc...
:shakes head:

im very undecided att

Those 3 brands are completely different man. No offense, but neither Rota nor VIP should be mentioned in the same sentence as volk...

Rotas are cheap and low quality, VIP wheels are bling and Volk is super high quality and elegant designs...

dlmartin81 12-05-2009 06:04 PM

they look sick.

DEVIL_Z 12-05-2009 10:19 PM

how big of a spacer you need to clear away from the front brakes?

m4a1mustang 12-05-2009 10:21 PM

Fantastic!

Ryan@Forged recommended 10mm spacers for the front wheels. I was concerned about the stock studs sticking out, but then I realized with the smaller holes on the wheels were for. :p

I haven't ordered tires yet. Weather has been bad so I don't quite want to ruin the shine with these wheels just yet. At the earliest, I'll try to get the wheels mounted later this month.

BTW... were you on MY350? Diesel and Florida... has a familiar connection.

Minicobra1 12-09-2009 04:45 AM

I'm sure they are going to look hot when you get them mounted. Did you have to pay extra for the special custom finish?

Yes I am still on my350z.

I can honestly say I hate you, those are "tooooooooooooooo sweet" -Kevin Nash voice

I'm torn between GT-S and SF Challenge

I'm torn between GT-S and SF Challenge

My dad has 18" SF Challenge on his Z32. They're really nice wheels, but the design on the outer edge is too busy. The GT-S appears to be an evolution of the SF Challenge wheels as it is so much cleaner, and the spokes have a nice edge. Although some might say these wheels are "played out" because of its popularity, I'm perfectly happy making the switch from LE-37t. The only down side with these wheels is that they are heavier than our stock Sport wheels (as well as the LE-37t)

[EDIT] Tires ordered... looking forward to get them installed in about a week.

DIGItonium 12-15-2009 07:55 AM

My tires arrived last night, so I'm pretty psyched for Saturday morning. My dealer will be doing the work. Since they do work on the GT-R, I hope they can work on my wheels with care as well.

Hankook Ventus V12 Evo K110
255/35 and 285/30

These tires are a tad smaller in diameter than my stock ones... I'm afraid my car is going to look a bit weird.

areyouin729 12-15-2009 10:32 AM

I'm very excited to see how these look on your Z
