Replacing 1 rear wheel tire. Help please.

So I got a nail in the right rear tire. My Z came sports package. I got Bridgestone Potenza REO50A. I know its recommended that you replace in pair but I got the nail at an angle so I cant patch it up or anything, I gotta replace that tire. All 4 tires are in pretty good shape, only meet local commuting 5 miles a day for past year. Car only has 7k miles on it.

SO... The question, as i read the reo50a are summer tires and I was wondering how bad of an idea is it to replace it with bridgestone potenza RE970AS which are all season tires? will this f up my car pretty bad or...? Or should I get the RE760 which are summer tires like the REO50A...

or
3x REO50 + 1RE760

Getting a 4th REO50 is out of the question.

Mixing tires side to side I wouldn't do. what about buying two matching and selling the one you don't need?

Replace that one tire with the same exact one. You will be just fine.

A single REO50 tire cost 300 locally @ costco.. I cant afford that at the moment

I wouldn't even replace it with another RE050 unless the tread wear is almost nothing; 7K miles is not nothing

Get two new rear tires. I would suggest getting four new tires if you don't like the RE050s, but of course, the issue is cost. Perhaps you could do that and then recoup some money for the three lightly used RE050s.

While I cannot recommend it due to potential hazards, I have run mismatched tires on a couple of occasions on the Z without incident. But the wrong combination of tread patterns between the two different tires may cause serious problems in wet weather.

If you can't afford a single tire, I assume you are already out of your league by driving the Z. Just trade it in for something within your means. Threads like this annoy me.

Running two different compounds on the same axle is asking for problems. Buy a new set of rears. When you own a sports car, you need to have some savings set aside for things like this. When you buy the new tires, spring for the road hazard warranty so you don't have to do this again.

So keeping budget in mind, how is keeping my two front 7k miles REO50 and Replacing the two rear tires with 2 new RE970AS (all season).

pretty much 2x REO50 Summer front
2x new RE970AS all season back.

You shouldn't mix all seasons and summers. Think about it. You've got much stickier rubber on the front than the rear. You'd be better off buying a lone matching used tire on here or figuring out a way to come up with the $100 difference between the right tire and the wrong one.

Kid, you live in California. Why do you keep looking at A/S tires? You have a Z, put summer tires on it. It doesn't get that cold, even up in San Jose. You can get the Potenza RE-11's cheaper than the OEM RE050A's from Tirerack. That's what I run. Get them shipped to your house and take them to Discount Tire and have them installed. Pull some cash out of your savings if you have to, but do it right. And be happy they aren't Pirelli P Zeros that run me $500/piece.
Now stop asking and just go do it correctly.

You're right, I thought about this too much. I see on the website the wheels for 198 each and think ill grab of the POTENZA RE760 SPORT for the rear. This will make all 4 tires the summer tires and I think it should be good to go?

In the first place, I thought about switching over to all season tires because I thought those tires provide less road noise, but w.e I think this option is best.

Took your suggestion into consideration, thinking about going with the all summer tires.
