Arizona Vehicle Registration

I am coming back state side from Italy in September with my Z that has never been state side. I am going to be stationed in AZ at DM AF Base. Does anyone have any experience from coming out of country to AZ as far as registering your car there? I think I am going to have them ship the car to a port in San Diego and drive it to AZ to register it. I know AZ requires emissions test prior to registration too.

I guess my question is...is there going to be some kind of temp (plates) tag I will be given to get from CA to AZ to do the registration?
