I've actually heard of UMS now that I think of it! All good things, so that's a good sign!
I can't wait to talk to Kevin on Tuesday and officially be in the books for the next kit. It's going to be absolutely nuts. My only worry is getting back on e85 gas. Gonna have to do some research to see if there are any gas stations on the way back home. Otherwise I'll have to ship it :( not nearly as fun as road tripping it back!

And thx hotrodz. Once she's done, we gotta get together brotha! 2 nismos done up like this will be the talk of the scene ;)

Hotrodz 06-15-2015 08:43 AM

Brother you will be smiling in your sleep once you get your ride boosted. There is nothing like it. Also, you may want to consider getting tuned with EcuTek because it allows you to flex fuel that way you don't have to worry about were you need to fill up. :happydance: Yup we will have to meet up for sure...right now I'm planning on coming to Phoenix/Gilbert area in July so I will be letting folks know what I can do about meeting up once I get things nailed down.

NickTurnon 06-15-2015 09:49 AM

I am going in for a new color change very soon :)

Should be a fun change of pace! Hopefully you all can check it out in July if we get together

Haboob 06-15-2015 09:57 AM

I vote something with a Volt Yellow.

Kind of want to do my wheels in that colour.

I'll have to talk to Kevin about that for sure. Maybe when I'm just needing to cruise or those longer distance rides where e85 isn't an option. I'm having a convo with him tomorrow about the whole thing so I'll bring it up there.

I absolutely agree theres nothing like it! I've been boosted just about every car I've had. LOL Celica GT-S, 350z, 09 370z...Problem is once you've had it and it's gone, it haunts your dreams! :roflpuke2:

How about Lambo Green or something like that rusty/brown that Jeep has for choice on the Cherokee, it looks good.

Anyone ever dyno tuned with goodspeed? My friend with a V8 Camaro recommended me to them and he said he got dyno tuned for little under 400$ (around 320ish if I remember correctly) and siad I could get mine dyno'd for maybe even cheaper.

NickTurnon 06-24-2015 10:53 AM

Dyno'd or dyno tuned?
A few dyno runs can be had for $50-75. I found a tuner to do mine for $35 for 5 runs

An actual custom dynotune shouldnt be cheaper then $500 or so unless its a hookup from a tuner friend.

I think UMS does tuning for the Z for around that price. Goodspeed is a little more expensive if I am not mistaken. Dynocomp is still the most expensive.. Ive been quoted as high as $950 for everything for a custom tune. It just depends on who you call

Did you get any mods yet Louiey?

He said he got it completely dyno tuned on his camaro. It was kinda hard to believe, so I sent them an email. Never got a response back.

And I haven't got much mods installed. Only got ti tip short tails, but I'm still saving up for some mods, so it's tbd? :p

Xerodx 06-24-2015 02:27 PM

UMS does it for $750. Tony charges a lot because it is basically a "pay in" so once its done you can just come back if you need to and just pay labor. Also, it is like a 3 week wait time to get in because Tony is so busy, his time is expensive!

He retuned my Z last week and did my friends 350z yesterday for $750.

Anyone know where to go for track nights? I'm trying to find a 1/4 mile strip that might be open tonight anywhere in the Valley? Only track I can find any info on is Wildhorse Raceway. Are there any others that AREN'T closed down?

There were only two: Speedworld (in Wittman) and Firebird (now Wildhorse Pass).

Wildhorse Pass is the only one open in the Valley at the moment, that I know of.

Arizona Motorsports Park is a race track, but they don't have a drag strip. Just driving school (I think one that you can use your own vehicle).

Haboob 07-26-2015 08:38 PM

Speedworld closed down, because they didn't want to pay property taxes on improperly zoned land and stuff.

...something of that nature. I've forgotten the details.

Sad day indeed. Remember the good ole days out there in Speedworld. Anyone want to open a race track with me damnitt?

GeauxTigers1 08-01-2015 03:20 PM

8/7 at about 7:30 we will be at Wild Horse Pass Raceway to run the Z stock before she heads to FI on 8/14! Should have 3 z's so far, anyone else up for making the trip out??

Haboob 08-02-2015 01:17 PM

I wish, but I can't risk my DD racing anymore. :icon17:

Good luck to y'all.

Aw man! it's just a straight line! :p I have a feeling somebody does a bit of that on a friday night on the streets! :)

:icon17: I used to drag race at the strip all the time with my SRT4. Broke many motor mounts, until I upgraded from OEM.

I stopped after 4-5 years of it.

I've actually never raced my Z (at the strip of on the street). I haven't even tried launching it. I dropped the clutch to get some tire spin once on some old tires, but that was it. :icon17: I'm ordering new tires soon, so I'm going to head out to an empty parking light a day or two before and see what it's like to spin in circles. :D

Anyone have a TK Hebi Bebi shift knob for sale or knows anyone that have one for sale?

Gianni 08-06-2015 04:46 PM

Anybody know where I can get my headlights housing painted black? I'm afraid of doing it myself.

Not sure of a place here in AZ, but there was a guy over in Cali that did it.

Unsure if he's still doing it. May want to hit up the SoCal forum and see there.

DM @dzretrofit on instagram or email Dzretrofit@icloud.com. He's located in Glendale, kinda far but worth the trip. That's where I got mine done.

Damn East-siders. :shakes head: ;)

Didn't know there was someone local that did them, nice.

Thanks! I made an Instagram account to dm him. I could make the trip to Glendale no problem. I was seriously thinking about sending my headlights to one eighty in New York but now I can just drive to get them done. :)

If you're not ready to part with it, my offer is probably not going to persuade you. Also someone offered me a brand new Hebi Bebi for $500 and that's way out of my price range for just a shift knob. Tops I'll pay is $300 for a used shift knob with minuscule scratches.

No problem! I was quoted 400$ for opening/resealing, satin black housing shrouds, reflectors, etc., demon eyes, and halos. Way cheaper then what ONEighty is charging.
