Saw a few 370s but not many!

We should arrange a little meet up! Saturday i'll be opening up my headlights and doing a clear lens conversion with halos + painting the housing black so i'll be busy then :(

I was planning on going, but then the weather rolled in and I thought for sure it was going to be called off - I just bailed.

I think my buddy w/his GTR or Hellcat was there.

Yeah we thought it would be canceled but it only sprinkled a bit for like 10 min.
I saw maybe 3 GTRs there so one of them was probably your buddy! Think there was 1 hellcat

conor1123 04-27-2015 03:22 PM

I need to call UMS and get a retune this week...found out my tune was kind of junk..

Ah, it poured over by my house. :icon17:

Next time I'll go if I can. Are they once a month or every Saturday?

I heard once a month. It did rain like crazy over here in Chandler too but once we headed north it wasn't so bad.

Quick question fellas. What are your oil temps like during this time of year? Particularly summer? I'd rather get some real world feedback before I make the jump. I know Nissan supposedly added a "band aid" to keep the oil temps cool. Just wondering too since the car will see 20 min sessions 4x during a NASA event.

I know I'll be using very good oil and filter, but since the car will be under warranty, I'd rather not tinker with it and add an oil cooler until the warranty runs out.

Haboob 04-27-2015 03:52 PM

I have a 2013 (with Nissans cheap oil cooler) and I run 200-218ish during the Summer. About 200 the other seasons.

It's my DD though.

I run a Setrab 34 row cooler. Most people don't use coolers that big until you start getting into forced induction. I use it because of ARIZONA hah. Usually im around 180 with my cooler, maybe 200 if im stopped in traffic during the peak afternoon hotness. I haven't tracked the car yet but i've done some hard 20-45min canyon runs and i've been around 220-230 max.

trustr888 04-27-2015 04:28 PM

Thanks for the feedback! That's not too bad at all.

Haboob 04-28-2015 08:26 AM

Jen, what time/place were you thinking? Thursday around 6:30/7:00 seems to be the best time for us.

Actually, I am not going to be able to make it. I was told today that I have to work OT (until almost 11), because some contractor failed to show up Monday evening and rescheduled Thursday. :shakes head:

JENZ 04-30-2015 11:41 AM

Welllll don't worry too much... We are here just hanging out at the shop cause we have no other car. I don't know how long we'll be here probably all day. They have a lot of work to do- down pipe, tune, gauges, and hella lights.

Saw a roadster on Via Linda by subway and ace hardware. Anyone here?

Crazy storm last night

Haboob 05-04-2015 09:16 AM

Yeah, was raining a bit on the way in and surprisingly traffic didn't panic.

The Z got a nice little wash, but I still need to get the dead bugs off of the front end. :(

I know, I'm horrible. Hard to keep a DD clean for long though and you get tired of cleaning/paying to get it cleaned ever week or two.

My z is my dd and I know the struggle haha. It's unfortunate that the storm woke me up at 3AM though :|

louiey370z 05-05-2015 10:34 AM

Saw a black z with a red stripe in target at 7th street. Revving the **** out of it too

conor1123 05-07-2015 12:06 AM

Seen your Z around a few times. I'm at Chandler/Kyrene. Sadly I know nothing about the kind of work you are looking for so hopefully someone can chime in.... Good luck!

So you are looking for a repair shop only in Scottsdale? Are you paying out of pocket for the repairs or insurance?

Let me know, I have a couple good shops that we use for small things

Hi All,

Just picked up my Z this weekend. Loving everything about the car so far except for the funky clutch peddle feel(I plan on doing the peddle spring mod to see if that will help). I'm not planning on any huge mods at this point, but who knows.

One question I had for you all was, have you had issues with oil temps in summer in traffic? I commute from Gilbert to the Biltmore area for work on daily basis and was wondering if I should invest in an aftermarket oil cooler? Any help is appreciated!

You don't really have to. I drive from tempe to the Biltmore everyday. Your temp prob be around 230 to 235 in the summer when it's 95 degree. But I would recommend it tho. I need to get one myself too.

I would get one. My temps were getting too hot. Once I installed one, my temps dropped by about 20 degrees. Well worth it for anyone in the Phoenix/Tucson area. I think I stay around 200-210 mid-summer

Did you install it yourself ? I am not familiar installing an oil cooler

It wouldn't hurt to get one. Even if you don't plan on pushing the car hard the heat will still be rough.

Yes. I do all of my own work as I've been working on cars for years. Pretty straight forward. Here's a DIY:
