Theres a muscle man who drives a graphite nismo and goes to Golds Gym off Raintree. Theres another younger guy I pulled up next to with a red/blacked out one near Frank Lloyd Wright & 101.

Those are the only people that I have seen other then some older women that drive the car.

You guys want to get a cruise going this weekend or next weekend? Ill bring my camera and we can do some photos?

Haboob 04-25-2013 10:16 AM

I have a golf tournament next weekend, so I couldn't do it then.

I have some lessons schedule for Sat. morning (stupid slice), but I have to call and make sure that it's still going on - the guy may be out of town.

I really want to do a cruise, esp. a nice one up to somewhere like Jerome, at least once this Summer.

I can't even afford to golf right now. I generally go play over at McDowell Mntn since its right behind my house. However I play in the summer when its $18-30. Couple weeks ago it was $150. Now its $90..

I'd rather fill up a whole tank and drive instead of pay $90 to play golf haha. Been there and done that.

But anyways, I am always down for a nice cruise. Anyone else in?

That's what we are doing......well, not exactly the same. We leave tomorrow for a Caribbean cruise, then to NYC for a few days.

And no...NOT on Carnival :shakes head:

:happydance:

It would be great for a get together though......

Hey, I enjoyed my carnival cruise! Haha then again I was intoxicated for the 7 days.

Haboob 04-25-2013 10:42 AM

I will only cruise Carnival.

I love them. I've been on 8 cruises, 7 of which were Carnival and I've never had an issue.

It's just that these recent issues were put in the spotlight since the Costa Concordia incident. :shakes head:

See, that's the benefit of being in East California like I am.

I played AZ Traditions for $35 w/cart last week. Coyote Lakes is about $32 w/cart.

I have the "Mom & Pop" sponsorship for my golf tourney next week though. My Dad used to play in it all the time and wants me to play in it now, so he sponsors me and a friend of my choosing.

I think Arrowhead Legends is having a tourney the week after. Thinking about joining that one too, if my buddy can get off of work.

I have been on two carnivals . Both were great. The people you bring really make the trip.

(You are in east california?)

If you ever need an extra player for a tournament or just for fun, let me know! My brother & I play often in the summer time. I wouldn't say that I am great, but I can hang. Played in a few tournaments before

Definitely. I don't know enough people that like to golf, or that can golf often enough. :icon17:

I'm not great either.

I started getting pretty good (low 80's :bowrofl:), but decided I wanted to fix my slice so I took a lesson... it seems like I've taken a bit of a setback. I haven't fixed it yet and have to get use to this new grip. :shakes head:

Sounds like we are about the same. I am generally in the low 80s. Although I have played in the jungles of Mexico and shot over 100.

But you can understand why... dog leg left and your playing with monkeys.. No joke. There were monkeys and wild boar all over the course.

Lets get a cruise going so we can talk golf and not clutter up this thread!

Good to hear your Carnival trips have gone well. We won't cruise with them. My mom's a travel agent (cruise specialist), so we get a lot of info from her about cruise lines etc. We usually cruise Royal Caribbean, but this time we're on Celebrity. If anyone want's a good cruise deal...let me know ;)

If she can beat $359 for 7 Days to Cabo/Puerto/etc in March for a balcony room (non suite). Ill take it now! Thats what I paid for my last cruise last year in March. Can't really beat that price...I cant even stay in a hotel down the street from my house for 2 days and pay that amount. Let alone food, alcohol, etc..

My Norweigan cruise was almost double the carnival cruise. A little better food, but a lot older crowd.

Yeah....Carnival is a younger, more roudy crowd. They are a discount line. Most lines won't go to those ports anymore due to violence at the port. But just about any line will be a good deal versus flying to one destination and having to pay for food, lodging and entertainment. It all comes down to personal preference. If you have had a good time, you tend to return. If not, you try something else.

NickTurnon 04-26-2013 08:42 AM

Where do you guys take your cars for service?

I have been going to Pinnacle Nissan for the past year or so..

I think I pay $100 every time or close to it. Synthetic Oil.

Last time I went in, they wanted $800 for the 60,000 mile service.

My oil temps are thru the roof and I need to get the big service done somewhere.

Haboob 04-26-2013 08:45 AM

I haven't had to take mine in yet.

I've only had to do one oil change thus far and took it to a local shop that I've been using for almost ten years.

However, I don't know that I'll be able to use them anymore since this Berk exhaust hangs lower than the stock, which barely rubbed on the floor-guard things as I drove over them. :(

When the time comes, I'm not sure which place I'll use. I guess Pinnacle has been the most straight forward with me and I can "trust" them more than the other dealerships.

NickTurnon 04-26-2013 10:55 AM

UPDATE:
Just took my car to Pinnacle Nissan-

Told them my base brakes were a little squeaky and that my oil temp has been high. The recommended we do the 60,000 mile service for the car since the original owner sold me the car right before it hit 30,000. He stated that with all the flushes, services, etc that the price would be somewhere around $800. So he wrote $800 on the paper and then listed the things they were going to do. I made sure that I asked him if the service was going to cost me exactly $800 and he said he would try and get the price lowered?

Anyways, he said it was about a 5-6 Hour job. Ill be here all day.

I'm on the West side and I just went to a Danny's Family Car wash. Talked the guy down to $100 for 15% all around (no windshield). He had the ceramic option, but I didn't want to pay more than $100 or so for tint. I think he was charging $200 or so for it?

I could be wrong on that price though, it was a while ago that I got the tint (4mos. :icon17:).

NickTurnon 04-27-2013 05:16 PM

I paid $150 for removal of factory 35% and install of 5% all around. Plus he added windshield strip..

Found him on craigslist. Did a great job.

Does that mean you two want to come with?

SPEAK UP

Haboob 05-13-2013 01:09 PM

If it had stayed at Westgate I definitely would have. I just read the FB page. Bummer it didn't.

Tempe Town Lake is just too far for me, at least on a week night.

I know... excuses, but I'm already downtown for work, then would have to go home and go all the way back to the East valley. Yuck.

NickTurnon 05-13-2013 01:23 PM

Yeah, makes sense.

I have another '13 rolling with tomorrow. Ill post photos.

Thanks Haboob

I may have to agree with Haboob. I work in Tempe and live in far NW Phx. Although, it does sound interesting. Needs to be on a weekend.

We'll have to make a meet at Pavilions again soon. I'll be free in a few weeks. Having eye surgery this Friday so this weekend is out and on-shift at the fire station the following weekend.

Gotta show off a couple new mods. Another carbon fiber piece on the interior and a set of Z1 hood struts. Also added underhood LED lighting

Hopefully the spacers Berk is sending will be in so I can at least have a set of even tips. Then I may feel more comfortable about going out in public where people may look at the car closely.

NickTurnon 05-13-2013 03:09 PM

I work in Tempe as well. Live in N Scottsdale though, so I understand the distance factor.

Theres always weekend meets. Ill try to keep you informed!

Anyone up for a Pavilions meet next Saturday night (6/8)? I think I may finally have a free weekend :)

I'll be at the Dbacks game next Saturday. Won't be able to make it then.

Haboob 06-24-2013 01:06 PM

Any of you know of any reputable Nissan dealerships for warranty work?

Clearly Peoria Nissan is full of it.

I'm throwing a p2098 code and they are refusing to resolve it, because they believe the O2 sensor wiring was modified from stock - which it was not. Yet, he also made the comment that I'd have to throw the stock exhaust back on... :shakes head:

I bought mine at Pinnacle and only took it there for a free oil change. I did have recall work done at Power in Tempe (close to work) and they treated me well....

Haboob 06-24-2013 02:55 PM

Yeah, that's my next place.

Just spoke with my salesman in Vegas and he had this to say:

This can especially happen with high flow cats. Lean make more power but you run a risk of detonation in the engine. The best thing to do is to take it to a shop with a dyno and have the car tuned. They can adjust the mixture through the rpm band and keep it from happening.

So, I may just have to bite the bullet and get the UpRev tune.

To which he said:

So we'll see. I wonder how bad it is to just keep driving it as is. Maybe the 110+ temps are getting to it?

NickTurnon 06-24-2013 03:06 PM

Are any of you guys running oil temps of 220+ just cruising around?

I am.

Worried me at first, but then I remembered: We drive in an oven. :icon17:
