Thanx John.

redline10000 12-30-2014 12:06 PM

Hey John, I just sent you an email. I can make the drive over to you as soon as this week if that works with you.

Memphis370Z 12-30-2014 01:30 PM

Received my kit yesterday and will be sending the ECU dump file to you, John, in the next day or so.

Memphis370Z 12-31-2014 08:03 PM

Sent you an e-mail, John. Need some help with Tuner Assist to send you the ROM dump.

vgl08 01-04-2015 10:27 PM

Definitely interested! Email sent.

Ecutek rocks.

I am a true believer of ECUTEK after making the switch from Uprev. To be frank it totally night and day between the two tuning softwares. John Visconti is truly a remarkable tuner. The gentlemen took his time and tuned my car from 2pm to 8PM. My car is forced inducted with GTM Twin SC.

*Note: I have to return to Visconti for a follow-up Tune as my car is only making 5 Pounds of Boost, caused my Belt Slippage and outdated main bracket that has to be replaced tomorrow at RAD. After replacement I hope to have my 11.5 PSI of boost restored.

The car highest it made was 358.9 WHP at 5PSI on a Mustang DYno. So to be continued.

Here is the Dyno chart from my tune by Visconti today. ECUTEK is the truth! and John Visconti, Thank you!!! Pleasure to meet you bro.

vgl08 01-10-2015 03:27 PM

Is the promotion still going on? I sent John an email about a week ago.

Looking forward to getting the tune flashed. So far, John has been quick to respond and helpful. The info provided has made it an easy process to follow.

Well, almost a month later and I am getting zero feedback from John on the forum, emails or phone. Not sure what to think about this. Things were moving along smooth, then nothing. Anyone else getting a reply from this guy?

Ditto.

vgl08 01-20-2015 08:33 PM

I spoke to the people at PTuning and they said racerom for Ecutek is still in beta...

Good to know and thanks for sharing, vgl08. At this point, I think Silly Rabbit and I are just looking for some communication from John.

This wouldn't be the first time he's disappeared from this forum after making big promises. Or the second. Maybe the third?

mag_black 01-20-2015 10:54 PM

I went back and forth w/ him for a couple of days and went to schedule dyno time and he pretty much has ignored me since then. I've tried and tried to get him to schedule time, but nothing.

Silly Rabbit 01-21-2015 01:06 PM

I got an email from John today with my initial tune. No explanation on being MIA. Good to see this moving forward. Hopefully, he will keep in touch with the rest of you and keep this moving along.

Joker_J 01-21-2015 01:19 PM

how do these tunes work?
Sorry, new to all of this lol

Got an e-mail from John today too. I agree that it's nice to have things back on track.

If anyone ever tunes with ECUTEK in Boston or close, Let me know. I would LOVE to campare on the dyno this VS my UPREV. I just cant drive 7-8 Hrs round trip and and then have it make the same power. :/

Thanx man I did , No one. That's why I asked if anyone knew of a place I may have missed. :/

redline10000 01-23-2015 09:18 PM

There is another master tuner near visconti tuning, maybe they are worth a shot. Not that far of a drive.

derraj06 01-29-2015 06:02 PM

Email sent.

djtodd 01-30-2015 07:28 AM

Any word in flex fuel support? :)

ANMVQ 01-30-2015 07:34 AM

maybe John,
Will let me know when he's coming up my way, I'll rent the dyno( I have a place I use) if he'll tune my car :)

Infamous 03-22-2015 06:06 PM

So, has anyone heard back from John or have a tune with all the features working?

djtodd 03-22-2015 06:10 PM

Lmao sounds like the last thread all over again.

djtodd 03-22-2015 06:26 PM

Yeah it's obvious they could care less about this platform. Too busy with gtrs and toybarus. Can't blame them, but I wish we could get some consistency.

I'm in the process of getting an e-tune from John and received a file from him a couple of weeks ago. I still owe him a couple of data logs (maps 1 and 2), but I've got a CBE and HFC that I want to install before doing so. Outside of a communication lull several months ago, he's been good at responding to me and getting files to me in a timely fashion. Using the software is pretty straightforward.

Infamous 03-22-2015 07:25 PM

So are all the features good to go or are they in beta as stated earlier in this thread?

The map switching works for me and is easy to use. At the moment, I'm only using 2 maps. The launch control and flat foot shifting are for the MT and I have an AT, so I can't comment on those two features. Regarding the RaceRom Controller, I hope to explore the traction control sensitivity feature with my final tune.

derraj06 03-22-2015 11:02 PM

I emailed him multiple times about getting a racerom flash, promo or not, and never could get a response. I'm taking to a couple shops about doing this semi locally. It should be good news for all if it works out.

Silly Rabbit 03-23-2015 07:44 AM

I am in the process on getting an e-tune from John. It going on 3 months and he is EXTREMELY hard to get in touch with. Multiple attempts to contact him get unanswered. Its been 2 months since I got my initial flash and sent him logs using the 2 maps on the flash and now I'm kind of stuck. No updates, no response, nothing. No idea what the 2 maps are, how they differ or which one I should be using. Not sure if he's just abandoned my tune or what. I don't have an dyno runs, so I can't compare anything other than my experience. So far, the tune feels more responsive, less restrictive, but I haven't notice a jump in power. My car is running very well with the tune. I just don't think it's fine tuned yet. I was expecting a noticeable enough change that I would be thinking wow, I wish I'd done this earlier. Hopefully that is still to come.

:ugh: Disappointing to hear this. As has been said before, the Ecutek tuners on this forum leave a lot to be desired in the customer service department.

For me, I noticed throttle response improvement right away. Nothing else was really noticeable (I'm mostly stock tho). Good luck getting ahold of John and getting your Z fine tuned :tiphat:

theZspot 03-23-2015 10:11 AM

Got tuned by John himself last night at TX2K. Love it already. Launch control is great, works flawless and can be changed in what appears to be 400rpm increments using the steering wheel right cruises lever. No lift shift is awesome and the car feela smooth and completely consistent through the rev range. He was out there tuning 8-9 second GTRs and was busy most of the day but it was well worth it going to him. Don't have a dyno yet but will soon. but just those options added alone were worth the 350 for tune and license and 300 for the cable.

ANMVQ 03-25-2015 08:44 AM

Glad you like the car/tune but in for the dyno. When are you going? What mods you have ( if I missed it)

Infamous 03-25-2015 10:04 AM

So, $650 and no end user tuning? Just clarifying. In for dynos as well.
