Man, I'm just fooling around being silly. Even though I must admit a little startled that I couldn't get a few very basic answers. Like... do you dyno cars?

.

Being I hadn't heard back, the car is going in the body shop this morning to fix the paint were an A-hole grounds crew mowed next to it and out of town on a business trip next week....wanted to make hay while the sun was shining. (really did want to get the car in last week for tuning)

Anyway downloaded the latest version of the Cobb software and spent the afternoon Friday on the dyno mostly tweaking the fuel/air as potential track time is kinda running out this year. Did do a couple of pulls attempting to play with the timing and your absolutely correct about the timing being dynamic.

Really hard to get the pulse of the beast but also appears your correct in that it has a bit too much timing in the midrange and that's causing the computer to go bonkers. Difficult to tune as you put 2 degrees in, it pulls some out. You add two degrees and it pulls some timing out. Plus the overall timing is 3 degrees more than the last log session. In addition, who knows if the Cobb software is working correctly but it did seem to work on air/fuel.

Hey, nothing hard about tuning these things is there.??

most good efi systems have adjusted timing. That is why i wish we had programs with the options to change the knock retard rates or the multiple maps, or the coolant temp retard values and the other little things so we could actually have control of the car's ecu.

With you all the way on that one as it's pretty frustrating to basically have the car do whatever it wants regardless of what you do. Frankly have no clue as to why the timing was so much better except to say it was better (cooler) conditions. What happens when warm weather returns?

Well, FWIW, I met up with Sharif (Forged Performance) last week to do the ROM dump. Turns out UpRev already has a ROM for my ECU so it wasn't necessary to send my ROM off to them for patching. I was all ready to let Sharif tune my car as soon as he could get me in, but he just called me to let me know that UpRev has asked him to hold off on reflashing any ECUs. Turns out there are a couple of minor kinks they want to iron out. I'm happy to wait; I'm not one complain about people being extra diligent. Anyway, just thought I'd pass on this latest tidbit of info to rest of you.

Is it possible to dump my ROM w/o going to a shop? I'd like to contribute but the nearest Uprev tuner is 2+ hrs away. Also I've got cipher + OBDII cable.

You can only dump it if you have Osiris.

Because UpRev avoided the dyno issue, my gut feeling is they probably were putting me off for that very reason. Would have drove down last week as 2.5 hours is nothing and trying to get things finished. Let us know how it works.

Adam @ Z-1 Performance called me and my gears are shipping. Very happy to wait and my hats are off to anyone whom takes the time to do it correctly. Nothing wrong with that and everything right about it.

Thanks for bumping this, heading to Austin for the weekend and will need to call and drop off my ECU to help them (if it is one needed). I am waiting to do my tuning until my exhaust is in and decide what new intake to upgrade to.

How can I find a Pro tuner in my area that deals with Uprev?

Go to UpRev's website and click on the link called "Dealers & Tuners." (Use your imagination, man.) ;)
