What do you mean by boost by gear?
EcuTek have build in boost controller?

User defined tables and proper sensors can allow this. Basically the tuner creates a new table to define boost based on what gear you're in. They also have to "retask" ECU sensor inputs/outputs.

Seeing as there isn't a boost input for the factory ecu there will have to be some sort of adapter/piggyback unit....... I think. http://serve.mysmiley.net/confused/confused0081.gif

Ecutek allows for "retasking" ECU inputs and outputs. Basically all the emissions sensor and crap can be disconnected and then new sensors tied in to those inputs. It pretty f'ing awesome if you ask me.

Can somebody elaborate flex fuel future for me please?

Basically an ethanol to gas ratio sensor can be tied in and then custom tables created to adjust engine parameters based on what % ethanol is in the tank.

Obviously there's a lot of "smart person" stuff that has to be done in the ecutek software to make any of these things work but that's where someone like Visconti comes in.

^^^^^ Yes, very kool

Being able to run E85 and not having to adjust your tune 2-3x a year would be nice. The real drawback running E85 is the vast difference from one pump to another and the significant change between winter and summer months.

Boost by gear is a method that is used for traction its were you can run your spring pressure in lower gears for traction, and full boost once you get traction. Now in a case where even your spring pressure still lights up the tires timing by gear can be used to pull timing tell you get traction.

This all can be adjusted by tables in the ecu.

This is where the ethanol to gas ratio sensor comes into play. It will automatically detect the ratio of ethanol to gas and adjust accordingly.

Wow, I had no idea EcuTek had some of these advanced options coming. That Ethanol sensor video is very impressive. I wonder if GTM, who is tuning my car, will look into EcuTek...

Is there any chance we can see speed density with ecutek?

diddy535 05-03-2013 10:39 AM

So use E85 but add ethanol, but isn't ethanol expensive itself?

I'm assuming you meant to quote my post?

Any how if speed density can be enabled through ecutek, I'll probably buy, first i need to actually get the supercharger kit i want XD

Interested to see how this all works out. Unfortunately I more then likely will not be changing over even if there is a huge difference since my UpRev tune cost about $500 2 years ago and I just recently spent $400 to have it re-tuned after I had a few exhaust leak problems. Goodluck.

One more thing Visconti pointed out as far as Uprev vs ECUtek comparisons go is that to have a true apples to apples comparison the same tuner would have to tune using Uprev and then tune using ECUtek since not all tuners are equal.

EcuTek added support to your ecu this morning

Any word on when/if the G37 will see ECU support?
