possible to beat M3 and C63??

yaaaa, just tuning the 370z without adding the TT, is that possible to beat M3 (e92)and C63??:icon18:

G37sHKS 05-23-2011 11:42 AM

SRR,im new, what is 4.08 gears??

edub370 05-23-2011 09:51 PM

the short version...MAYBE if the planets align... but in reality, i wouldn't go out pickin fights with any, because chances are it would not turn out so well...

Econ 05-24-2011 08:02 AM

an m3 or c63 will run any N.A 370

Kingbaby 05-24-2011 08:11 AM

if stock....then yes!

you guys(370) have great platforms for easy potential...

Econ 05-24-2011 08:17 AM

the 414hp m3 hits 60 in 4.3 with a 12.4 1/4 mile. I don't know that NA 370's will be able to keep up.....FI and its over, however I don't think NA is going to do the trick.

RedBullRR 05-24-2011 08:28 AM

High revving V8 vs NA V6 no chance. Yeah there heavy but they are 1 fine piece of machinery.

Z eliminator 05-24-2011 08:39 AM

My 7 AT with Bolt ons runs 12.42. We would ahave a good race at the drag strip.

YA THINK?? the thing is, it won't even be by a close margin. Boosting or upgrading to GTR will get you there. When I run into an obviously superior car trying to race, I resort to the thumb up method; always seem to take away the "I'm going to crush you" desire from the other driver :icon17:

Red__Zed 05-24-2011 08:52 AM

depends what you mean by beat I guess.

I'd be on the prowl with a 370Z...straight gobbling up cars...:yum:

What boltons did that 12.4 occur with ?! Curious :)

B.A.Q 05-25-2011 01:39 AM

Well the got what they paid for and i think some the members here might uave a chance with stock m3 or c63 with full bolt-ons like jnuts and Z eliminator best NA times ive seen so far.

but they will sure not have a chance if we spent the diff in price that they spent on their cars thats they only excuse i have when im talkin to shelby camaro vette owners haha

No!

AlphaSnacks 05-25-2011 02:56 AM

We have modded NA 370Zs trapping better speeds and times than E92 M3s. So yes there is potential to win, but at best it'll be neck-and-neck if a race were to happen.

But the C63 AMG is a different story, especially the refreshed car with P31 performance option. Without FI, that'll walk any modded NA 370Z.

Z eliminator 05-25-2011 06:56 AM

IT ran a 12.42 @114.3 370z sport 7 AT
stillen G3. stillen headers, motordyne intake manifold, stillen CBE. berk cats. under drive pulley, cobb tune, 4.08 gears. Volk t 37 18 x 10.5 rims MT 305 35 18 drag radials, skinney front tires, racing brake front rotors, GTM torque converter.
Time slip is in the drag section.
Jnaunt's car 370z 6 Mt on street tires ran 12.2's at the track with a trap of 114.7
Both cars are N/A.

how fast is a M3 ?

Deadman 05-25-2011 08:19 AM

Is he running 4.08 gears as well or just you? Assuming he is . Cobb stop production of Ap for 370?

High 12s and about 4-5MPH slower. You two are running M6 numbers.

AlphaSnacks 05-26-2011 01:35 AM

Here's a very well modded M3 on the left. Has AFE filter, Dinan Exhaust, X-Pipe, Active Pulley, Active ECU, with DCT transmission on 100 octane gas. Not much room for improvement since that '60 is spot on. And it's an auto.

http://www.dragtimes.com/images_time...3-Timeslip.jpg

No faster than our modded 370Zs - granted we need an extra mod or two to get there.

jnaut 05-26-2011 08:19 PM

here in the right lane is a very well modded 370z 6spd on street tires :)

Yep. The 370Z modded is an absolute beast.

AlphaSnacks 05-27-2011 12:37 PM

Whatever. It's all relative. Anything that does lower-12s is beastly to me. BMW M6, M5, LS3 Corvette. We're not exactly talking slow here.

12's under perfect conditions is very different than being a low 12 second car.

AlphaSnacks 05-27-2011 12:57 PM

I don't understand. Jnaut and ZEliminator did not run their times under "perfect conditions" - they were able to consistently run mid-low 12s with their current setup. You make it seem like these kinds of times are flukes or something. Not sure why you're trying to discredit the car, exactly.

And it's not like I'm saying it's beastly in stock form. I'm specifically talking about a modded car like theirs.

Those look like lousy times for those mods.

There's a guy with a red e92 with the automatic trans that runs a little quicker (and a lot faster) at our track rentals. His averages were somewhere around ~12.3 @ 115+ with bolt ons and street tires (stock rims).

:iagree:

I don't think anything is beastly until it is in the 10s. :bowrofl:

The M6... that is a pig. But damn it's a top end monster.

Maybe we just look at beastly differently. Hanging with stock cars that you are in the price range of with mods is not very impressive to me.

AlphaSnacks 05-27-2011 04:26 PM

We do. I think an NA 3.7L V6 running those kinds of numbers is beastly. It's simply impressive, considering we had supercars not too long ago running those figures.

Red__Zed 05-27-2011 04:27 PM

See, for 50 grand, I'd rather have something with a warranty, or something much faster.

shadoquad 05-27-2011 04:28 PM

For under 100k, I don't see how one could go wrong with an M3. Oh, I'm sorry, wrong thread.

What would you get for $50k?

Don't apologize, you're absolutely correct. It is the best bang for buck supercar under $100k :roflpuke2:

I would buy an M3, tbh.

I'd buy a 1 M. :)

For which solution?

You could get a supercharged 5.0 for speed, a tuned 335, or buy a z and my old s2k...
