Default Uprev capability

Being involved in the open source tuning community for Subaru's has sparked my interested in what exactly Uprev has the ability to modify.

Perhaps an Uprev representative could chime in (if there are any here), but from what I've gathered, this is likely the extent of what they can see/change. It does say "include" and not "limited to".

There are likely hundreds of different tables the ECU uses for different things, temperature compensations, barometric pressure compensations, etc. Some of these can affect drivability quite a lot. I'm just curious how comprehensive the tuning process usually is.

Any uprev tuners care to comment?

Not much more you need for our car than that.
Only remaining factor is VVEL which is its own control unit so it is outside the main ECU.

Interesting. I suppose there's not that many that NEED to be modified anyway, as most of the compensation tables are usually not used, or if they are, the effect is minimal.

I did some searching but there didn't seem to be much info out there as to exactly what a tuner typically changes when mapping an uprev unit. I did notice that Uprev has self-tuning software for those who want to go that route.

Still crossing my fingers for good gains by GTM's VVEL controller....

The VVEL is not supported right now and might not for a while !!
Right now We do have the Throttle mapping but no one can really tell what those numbers represent in the mapping. So good luck if you want to touch it !

I just recently downloaded the Uprev software but with running boost already I will not be touching my own car.
My research will be mostly just reading and learning how my current setup was created and why. The thing about the Z is it is a NA car from factory so you have plenty of little things to adjust, but for the most part it is already fairly well tuned from factory. My tune after doing intake, long tube headers & exhaust netted me around 5whp but brought my AFR back into a 'stable' range.

Is the torque management a spark retard on gear shift map? Isn't there also a map that controls line pressure and shift speed?

what we were told by Uprev about this , is the Torque management tell the transmission how much torque it will be getting

that would mean it control the line pressure.
and it is much needed when FI , soo apparently it does work

the number in the Torque mapping. are in Newton Meter

Hmm. Makes me wonder whether stronger hard parts are required or if this map just needs some serious tuning for boosted autos.

Still, I thought torque management was mainly concerned with protecting the driveline from shock by reducing engine output (e.g., retarding spark). I thought tuning shift firmness from line pressure was a separate variable

Perfect! This is exactly what I was trying to find. Throttle mapping sounds like it would be similar to this table in the Subaru ECU

*note the "3D" graph below does not correspond to the above table, this is just an example. *

Where basically the computer asks for a value to assign for the opening angle of the throttle plate, vs the pedal position.
