You don't need 3. I am thinking most people would want 3 to replace the 3 gauges. If you wanted only one to mount somewhere else in the vehicle you can do that too.

Pretty sure the price on 1 is $249.

Staples, they have a g37 going in as a test car is that you? They are still looking for a 370 too

No, not me... I'm not even local to them lol

Is there any software or cables to datalog that are available with this?

No exactly sure what you mean by this? each gauge can record the specific data show on the screen.

If you mean hooking up a laptop with something like Uprev, you would have to disconnect the gauges till you were finished tuning. Pretty simple to do since it just plugs into the OBD2

They make OBD2 splitters too so that's another option.

I have a DashDyno that basically does the same thing and can display four parameters
at the same time. Installed it in the cubby hole and currently have one external sensor installed - oil pressure.

I mean can it store data and can that data be downloaded for viewing in graphical or tabular format?

OBD II Scan Tool, Performance Meter & Data Logger | Auterra

Can you list all the parameters you are able to monitor? Does the dashdyno include the software for storing saved data on laptop or palm pilot or do these have to be purchased separately?

I have the old auterra software on my laptop I used for datalogging on my old car... sadly the OBD cable I had didn't seem to work on the Z so I sold it off...

The DashDyno takes up to a 2 gb SD card and can record all the data. Everything you need to view the info on a computer is included. I have made several dyno graphs (appears to be pretty accurate) and have plotted out the A/F ratios vs RPMs.

The aeroforce does not have a way of transfering to a computer. Its mainly for monitoring your car. When your going to be doing data logging, most of the time it would be for tuning anyways in which case you should have your uprev software for that.

That's true.

Just trying to figure out the price difference for the gauge vs dashdyno...

Meh, not worth it to me for $250 considering all the other available options:

$170:
ScanGaugeII - Trip Computers + Digital Gauges + Scan Tool

$180 and probably the coolest (if you own a good cell phone)
Innovate Motorsports OT-2 - Transform your iPhone or iPod into a wireless gauge, data logger, dyno, efficiency meter and OBDII scan tool.

The scan guage one doesn't sem to monitor many parameters... the Innovate one might be a good deal.

Except then I need a new ipod touch (I use one now for music) or I can't pay music and monitor what my car is doing.

I'm still torn between this and the dash dyno...

Edit -- I'm leaning toward the dash dyno... it';s ~$50 more, but it has way better monitoring and logging features.

If a deal can be made to drop the price on the single guage set up below $249 in a group buy I think that would be the winner tho'.

I am pretty sure the aeroforce will be more in-tune for people who want to keep a stock look to their car. These would compete more with the defi gauges which are $1000+ usually.

I don't really want an out of place box on my window, or a cell phone holder on my dash. If i was going to do something like that i would do it right and put a carputer in the cubby.

JMac88 12-08-2010 08:33 PM

I wasn't able to find anything about adding additional sensors to any of those, can someone with one chime in?

Have you permanently mounted your Aeroforce gauge yet? I'm trying to get some ideas on how I'm going to mount mine.

I thought about it long and hard, I decided to replace all three stock gauges lol. I am just waiting for testing to be done on the infiniti before they send me my gauges. Once i get them i will be doing the install.

If i was going to mount only one, i would try and mount it as flush to the pillar as possible, similar to that picture i linked.
