UpRev tuned by previous owner, can't flash with ECUtek

can you pull the ECU and have someone rewrite the ecu in boot mode? like these guys did ( https://www.vrtuned.com/blog/nissan-...ne-by-vrtuned/ ) or get a second hand ECU and swap them?
