UpRev tuned by previous owner, can't flash with ECUtek

How can I upload my ECUtek flash from Seb @ Speciality Z if my ECU was previously flashed with UpRev?

I bought this Z earlier in the year, 3rd owner, and am starting to suspect there were more modifications done to it and was returned back to stock when I bought it.

The previous owner never mentioned anything about having an UpRev tune on it, and I don't have an UpRev cable to flash it back to stock ROM before putting my tune from Seb on it.

Any alternative? Or do I need to buy an UpRev cable just for this?

How did you determine that it had a UpRev tune?
Have you asked Seb this question?

Yes, he said the error code I got indicated it wasn't installed because it was flashed with UpRev.

He stated I needed to get an UpRev cable to get it back to stock.

Yeah, just trying to find a way without having to get the Uprev cable and software. Seb is going to contact ECUtek on Monday to try to find a workaround....apparently, this isn't a common issue.

You could always buy a used OEM ecu with the stock tune and install that

ECUtek is looking at my ROM file, seeing if they can figure out a bypass. Apparently...somehow...in 11 years of 370z production and tuning, ECUtek has never had this be a problem before. Blows my mind.

When I was on Uprev and was switching to Ecutek. Martin (RS Enthaply) had to reflash my ECU back to stock on Uprev (he sent me the Uprev cable) and walked me through it over the phone.

After i was back to stock and had the Uprev license removed, he sent me the Ecutek deskey to upload the Ecutek. I had an issue where Ecutek didn't have my model on file (2010 G37 manual) and it took a couple of days to get it sorted out to be able to get me on Ecutek.

Wonder if Uprev here in Austin could maybe help you reflash back to stock before you switch over to Ecutek?

Oh damn, I had no idea they are based here. I'll give them a call. Thanks!

can you pull the ECU and have someone rewrite the ecu in boot mode?

like these guys did (https://www.vrtuned.com/blog/nissan-...ne-by-vrtuned/)

or get a second hand ECU and swap them? then dealership can fix NATS? or can ecutek maybe bypass nats

OP you're in Austin... drive the car to Uprev and ask them to flash it back to stock for you. It will take literally 2 minutes

Its probably because Uprev removed the ability to remove the license and put it back on the cable. People would then sell the used cable with a license. Without that feature, no point in deleting the license by overwriting it.
