Any idea what would cause false knock,must be external,even octane booster vehicle still knock..could a std cat that has been hollowed out cause this ..causing back ground noise. Anyone familiar

Any idea what would cause false knock,must be external,even octane booster vehicle still knock..could a std cat that has been hollowed out cause this ..causing back ground noise.
