Just got my Up Rev tune on my Nismo

I wasn't sure exactly what to expect before getting the car tuned, but the sole reason I did it was to make sure that the car had healthy AF ratios. I've read everywhere that once you do breather mods to both the intake and exhaust, these cars tend to run a little lean. My car only has 2 mods at the moment. I have the Z1 Long Tube CAI's and the Motordyne ART pipes, nothing else.Honestly I wasn't expecting to make any more power after the mods, I just wanted the car to be healthy.

A lot of the other members around here seem to change out their exhaust as one of their first power mods, but if you're looking for a decent increase in power without breaking the bank you may want to consider my 2 mods first combined with a tune. Just my opinion of course.

So unfortunately I didn't have a baseline dyno run before my mods were installed, but I can tell you that there was a definite increase in HP and Torque after I installed the mods. I could feel the difference and the car seemed much more lively and eager to rev. It had more torque on the low end and rev'd quicker in the high end. So how much did it improve after the bolt ons? Well according to the baseline run taken today I was putting down 312 WHP and 239 TQ before the tune. I can only assume that a stock Nismo without these mods running on the same dyno would put down between 285 to 290 WHP. And those numbers seem to be in line with the manufacturers claims. But thats a guesstimate based on what I've read here on the forum.

After Martin worked his magic on my car it put down a whopping 330.26 WHP and 261.90 TQ. That's an increase of 18 WHP and almost 23 TQ. And believe me when I tell you this...Before the tune, the difference from going stock to adding the mods was noticeable in the old Butt Dyno, but the difference between the mods and then getting it tuned is like driving a different car, it's literally night and day!

This thing rips and gets down without thinking twice. So here's my first impressions after driving it for a few hours today. First off, the crappy throttle response is totally gone now. This was always one of my biggest issues with the car initially. But what really impresses me is the amount of torque that I can feel in the car now. Wow! Huge huge improvement. The easiest way to explain it is like saying 3rd gear now feels like second even when you should actually be in second. If you're rolling at 35 or 40 mph and you're in 3rd gear, you'll think you're in second.Yep, it pulls like that. And once you start to approach redline...OMG, this thing keeps pulling. No flat spots or falling on its face like it did from the factory. It just wants to rev and chew through the gears.

Overall, it's a little beast when I want it to be, but it's still civilized when I need it to be. If you're thinking about modding your Nismo, you really cant go wrong with this setup. And by the way, I said that I wanted to get it tuned because I was worried that the car was running really lean, but after the baseline run I was shocked to learn that the car was actually running quite rich so there was a lot of room for improvement once tuned.

So if you're on the fence about getting a tune or adding a few mods, just do it. I promise that the money spent is well worth the endless smiles you'll find yourself with as you're putting the car through its paces. It's like a whole new car now.
