UpRev - Standard Cable and Cypher

Reason I ask is I'm about to make the jump to Ecutek and I'm trying to decide if it's worth buying the Ecutek cable to log/clear codes and selling my UpRev cable or if I can just keep the cable I have and log/clear codes with Cypher.

You can't operate two cables interchangeable that aren't compatible as the software's are both proprietary and only works one way. Therefore you will have to sell the Uprev.

So are you saying that you have to have an UpRev license to use Cypher?

I'm not trying to use the UpRev cable to do anything with Ecutek especially since it has no end user tuning ability.

Yes. The Cable alone can't communicate with the ECU via ODBII unless it's flashed with Uprev.

Has that always been the case because you used to be able to just buy a Cypher cable. I wasn't aware that came with an UpRev license.
