EcuTek RaceRom Features

Hi guys

In case you didn't catch some of our videos on the new EcuTek features, here you go.

Hey Seb,

Besides the extra features, do you think ecutek will make more power over uprev head to head comparisons? Given that ecutek can control timing and vvel? Is it worth the switch?

I gained 19 ft-lb and 21 whp over my Uprev

I'm getting a video not found message, anyone else?

Glad to hear SZ picked up ecutek as I have plans to get tuned by SZ in a near future.

Got it! Thanks!:tiphat:

I gained 15+ thought out going from UPREV to ECUTEK.

Back to back? I tested winter then summer, summer made a little less (minor changes too) but I'm sitting at 313/266 currently. If I could make 332/287 that'd be insane!! But I just don't see that being possible off just a retune. My tuners great so it's not a lack of him; just very pessimistic of 19/21 in a different brand of software.

The dyno chart is right there, the first run is Uprev. What's not to believe? Should I then not believe the nitrous gains either? I've had my Uprev for a few years now and I can tell you without hesitation that I could immediately feel the difference with EcuTek.

Hotrodz 06-27-2015 11:28 PM

I don't think this is about the tuner but the tool. There is simply more precision with the tool!!

Tommyguns, I'm curious to know too. Were your Uprev and Ecutek runs made on the same day?

Yes. Less then an hour apart.

mag_black 06-28-2015 10:06 AM

Awesome, really good to know. I think I will be contacting them soon.

Be sure to mention my name and the nitrous Z!

Right where? So uprev wasn't tuned that day? It was a few years old tune? Yeah, not valid unfortunately. The OEM ecu still makes changes on the street.

370Z JT 06-28-2015 12:04 PM

^will ecutek have full control of the ecu, or will the "OEM ecu stil make changes on the street" like uprev?

Sorry about that, I thought you had seen my write up. Here you go, you can find the dyno plot there. http://www.the370z.com/tuning/105045...itrous-me.html
Honestly I'm not here to argue, but I know my car very well as I'm sure you know yours, so you'll have to explain to me what I know to be a major improvement in my cars all around performance.

I think it has some validity. I doubt an Uprev touch-up (retune) would net the same results as Ecutek.

I agree I just wanna see a tuner say "I did all I can with uprev and all I could with ecutek and here you go..." End of that and let's put it to bed. And now that uprev is pissed and pulling stuff off their site I'm pretty sure they're killing themselves anyways!

mag_black 06-28-2015 06:04 PM

^^ I'm with you on that. :tiphat:

Tommy with the nitrous Z should do.

Sad. I called you guys a few weeks ago to do a tune, but the guy on the phone said you use UpRev to tune the Z's.

So I went with another vendor for EcuTek and eTune.

BC416 06-29-2015 12:24 PM

Very nice!

Also, am I the only one who pronounces it EeeSeeUUTek?!!?

TerribleONE 06-29-2015 12:33 PM

Seb shoot me a PM with a quote to switch over with a flex fuel tune.

Lol same here! It's the first time I hear it being called Ech-Q-Tek.

I honestly don't know :rofl2:

Seb pronounced it like Ech-Q-Tek in the vid which is why I made the post. I'm pretty sure his way is correct since he actually uses the product and is in contact with the people who sell it.

Hotrodz 06-29-2015 01:32 PM

It's Ec-U-tek lol...but I said it the other way too until I was corrected.

NC and Tenn. are wearing off on ya. We southern folk like to draw it out the long way. See below

EcQtech= correct
EseeYOUTech= southern way

I think you are being asymilated. :)

Hotrodz 06-29-2015 02:29 PM

It would not take much as I spent a fair amount of time in Mississippi and Alabama as kid, my parents and kin folk are from the South. It don't matter much as long as we understand what we be talkin bout.:D

At that point the latest release wasn't out. A few weeks makes a big difference. We just recently switched over in the last week or two.

Sorry!

Sorry!

Maybe I can have you guys check out my tune after the fact. A second opinion never hurts. Do you offer any kind of eTune service? You guys are about 2 hours from me.

Thanks.

Yeah, it's pronounced EcQTech, as Hotrodz and Spooler noted, but Spooler is exactly right about us southerners taking a word and making it as long as possible! :rofl2:

edconline 07-03-2015 12:20 AM

Great videos Seb! Pretty excited to have you guys do mine in August!
Any videos demonstrating the flat foot shifting in the 370? Still not 100% clear on how it works.
Also a video showing the traction control features and adjustment would be awesome!
:tiphat:

Zbrah 07-03-2015 12:34 AM

From my uderstanding it's done the same way as Power Shifting...shifting gears at high rpm without letting off the gas pedal.

Oh I get how you do it in the car itself as far as the driving side, I mean what is the software doing? Is it just dropping the throttle to a preset RPM as soon as the clutch is engaged, and holding it there until it is released?

Hey seb,

Can you explain what a 2008 G37 coupe will not get features wise. I believe there was a comment made that all the new features will not work on a 08.

Thanks

Mitco39 07-03-2015 08:55 AM

I'm also curious how it compares to lets say a racelogic system. How quickly can the ECU respond to torque requests from the ABS?

Also in your launch video it looked like it had a 2step launch control, is that correct? If so are you able to change both the high and the low rpm to aid in turbo spooling?

Looks very interesting.

Rob298mx 07-03-2015 01:50 PM

Flat foot shifting tuned by Visconti, featured on his thread here...
