7AT Times and Launch Tips

After doing some research I have figured out that the best times seem to come with VDC off. I have also read that removing the brake fuse is also beneficial. If anyone can confirm these 2 tips, with experience, please do so.

While you're at it, post your slips and mods with any additional tips for launching the 7AT. If you ran completely stock, those times would be appreciated too.

never ran stock but at first with just my exhaust i was running 13.1-13.5 depending on conditions and whatnot.

added intakes and tune then ran 12.89@111mph as my personal best the next day.

There's a thread for time slips.

Pulling the brake fuse is so you can stand on the brake and launch at a higher RPM (avoids throttle cut when both are fully depressed).

Not sure what consensus is on best launch method, but I'm sure someone else will be able to weigh in on this.

any time i have apply any throttle for a launch with the 7AT at the track it ends up in wheel spin and higher ET times.

That figures. I didn't think anyone could even get off the line revving much above 2.5K anyway, which is around when the throttle cut kicks in.

Horsing around with brake stand launches has always gotten me rotating :p

yup!
thats why i just light brake to hold me on the line.
3rd yellow light hits
smash gas pedal to the floor
about 7200-7500 RPMs - grab 2nd lol
and you know the rest.

typically i'm at the redline in 4th at the finish line.

That thread has so many pointless posts, I honestly got tired of sifting through the BS. And they don't post their method of launching, which in my experience, is the most important part of a good ET.

launching the 7AT is a rough thing to do without good rubber out back.

launching on street tires has just resulted in wheel spin for me.

i havent had drag radials on yet so maybe with those and good track prep i can launch and come back with my experiences.

that wont be until next spring though.
